Although I rarely take a deer, I enjoy my time in the woods watching the rut take place. My sons harvest about enough for all of us.
This year has been the exception. Since the opening bell of gun season, I have 5 full days in my blind, 6am-6pm and two, 6 to noon days. Before today I'd seen 3 deer, two does, and a small spike. Moved today, and saw 7, including one small horned piebald buck, the rest does. Getting to watch that piebald chase does for about an hour was a treat, even more so that my oldest son, (29yrs old) was in the blind with me.
