IMO, it should be put on the 3 yard line and you get 1 play to score. This is where high school games are played, in the trenches! And it's only fair that this is where they are won when it comes down to the wire. No disrespect to the kickers, but I don't like someone thats only been on the field 2 or 3 plays the entire night deciding the outcome of what the lineman and backs have been playing for all game long.

Myabe, playing teams that no one else around here could hang with.

As far as a prediction, this is one of those games that you never know how it's going to turn out. It's like your whole family playing in a pick-up game in your backyard. The best picked team with the supposed best players don't always win. I don't really know how to pick this one.

Hey, have you noticed how Russell has been struggling?

Yes, but the two teams with the winning records beat them. So if Russell would have played St. X and Male and lost, that would have them more ready for Mason. I don't really think it works that way. Neither loss was what you would call a close game. I understand what your trying to say. But take away Mason's two losses and the rest of the schedule of both teams are practically the same.

I think it's going to be Russell's toughest test, but I think Mason has already been up against better competition. No chance of winning the games either though. {Not taking anything away from Russell.} Now it might be the most important test for both teams. If Russell leaves their secondary at home again, I don't think they have a chance. But if they just bring SOME secondary play along with a little more pressure than last week Russell will be fine. If not, Mason Co. stays in their back yard for the playoffs. And the Russell faithful will get a double double.

I realize Coach Morris is over the defense. But is one of the other coaches like in charge of the secondary?

It's not that everyone hates OSU. It's just that they don't play quality opponents. thus win every game --- while other teams knock off the big boys--- in which OSU benefits and moves up the polls --- as a result of other good teams wins.

Notre Dame would be undef-------- Maybe not.

But to get on your level and your consistency other teams would have to lessen and downgrade their schedules.

You know how you come up to a hole with potential hazards, and you pull out a 5 iron to lay up and you end up messing the hole up anyway. I don't think they was actually trying to regain possession. Since your guessing, and guessing about Gary Morris. I guess you realize this is the time of the year that Gary Morris starts pulling things out of his hats and sleeves, and even other peoples ears. Whether the defense can withstand this Northern Ky. challenge no one will know until tomorrow evening. But my guess is the Devils will be ready. And the secondary will step it up.

Watusi you are exactly right. I did make a poor choice of words when I said humiliating. And I do apologize to the Pirate fans, players and coaches. And I did say that it would be a added incentive only if they met later down the line.

I couldn't agree with you more. And if it is Russell that they would have to come up against later on down the line, they will have added incentive from the humiliating loss of last year that still lingers in thier minds.

They obviously had to be getting better the first 3 quarters. Since they was up against a bigger challenge.
