I can understand the cost factor. Most crews of umpires cost for a set of two around 150.00 a game but baseball in most places is not a revenue generator and I would think that schools are entitled to off-set the cost but 5 dollars is way too much.

I hope the kids at MC read your post firebird and then maybe they can see that they are better than their record shows. I am sure that coach combs and crew have told them that, sometimes its just better to hear it from someone else.

No. it will never come down to who wins state and for that very reason I would assume. Sure, I think think that it would be possible for a player to avg. good numbers in previous years and then have a super senior season, but it would have to be super.

Lunatic, I am with you, I feel like having a degree is important because it shows that you are trying to hire someone with some education values and someone that is committed to goal orientation, etc. Having a background and that sort of thing is not a bad idea either.

Well his oldest daughter does, but his youngest daughter is just a little pup, so she is still at the community level. They dont currently attend Montgomery, but would have.

5 years would have given his daughter time to graduate and then assess his own career as far as retirement and then his younger daughter into middle school if he wanted to stay around and coach her.

I coach high school not in the school system and my two assistants handle everything in house. I walk in the gym at 330 ready to go and things run so smoothly that way. I have contact with my AD and Sup, sometimes the prin. I have never had a problem. I feel like the schools are better suited to hire outside people. Here is why: you need to hire a basketball coach but all you have is a biology opening. Way I see it, there isnt a whole lot of them out there coaching ball. So, you hire outside the best candidate that you can and then go and find the best biology teacher that you can, in both cases the kids win.

I dont know at all. I was just telling those that did that they needed to let the school make their announcement is all Imom. It is just the right way to do it is all. Believe me, there are two or three guys on here who know.:sssh:

Just going by the way things have happened at Mont. Co. not getting an interview could be a good thing :lol: . No seriously. What is the timeline, has anyone heard? I dont think that baggage is an issue so much with this job, quality of character and quality of coaching to me is the important issues in question here. Leave the guys with baggage alone. Everyone has skeletons in the closet, sometimes a new begining can be the begining of something great for a person.

Now that is an explanation if I have ever seen one. I bet you were the kind of kid coaches like me just love to coach. Never late, never backtalk, and always work hard, but look for example on your team, how many of those kind were there. The fact is, there just isnt that many of them. What I meant about the perfect practice was this. Any 12 kids can meet for 2 hours a day and practice 365 days a year and not get better. What is going to make them better is if during those times all year long, they strive for perfection, will never likely make it, but the pursuit of it is where greatness comes. That is all I was really getting at.
