Just watched a virtual measurement during Rams/Chargers game. This is one of the DUMBEST things the NFL has ever done. I don't recall there ever being any controversy with the chains. The controversy has ALWAYS been with the spotting of the ball by the Officials. The ball was spotted and an Official actually kneeled down with his had on the ball, while the Virtual system did its thing. Millions of dollars spent and wasted by the NFL on a non-issue. If they want to accomplish something, figure out how to Spot the Ball accurately using technology.
