  1. Problem is he is still the best rebounder they have unless Bonner has made some huge strides, which would let them play a lot of 4 out and one in
  2. Well, glad you gave us your unbiased opinion, Drew is a great kid and a very good basketball player, but being buried in the post the last 2 years pretty much drove him to a career in football, so where is he getting offers to play basketball at?
  3. Check out the rpi ratings, they rank 5-7 in rpi rankings, out of 20 some conferences in the country, they have 3 teams in the pre-season top 25,4 bids to post season last year, and had two teams in the sweet 16 last year, most people consider that High major,, the mac would be mid-major do some more research
  4. Missouri Valley and Big East are both considered high major conferences, with the Big East I think having the highest rpi rating right now, Evansville and Notre Dame would be no better than the middle of their conference right now, but I think comparing the signings doesnt mean much, you will have to see what each gets done at the college level. My guess is both will be successful, with Vanhoose being more of a scorer and Proffitt being more of a playmaker
  5. You just lost all credibility on this board, might as well cancel your subscription or hang out on the girls basketball forum lol My guess is we never hear who your #1 pick for the 16th is, because you probally couldnt take the heat:banana:
  6. _________________________________________________________________ If all you saw was the Rupp game, I can understand your thinking, and your right, that was not a d-1 performance while Proffitt has a state championship ring. That is why most people IN THE STATE would rank Proffitt higher, if you go around the country, the perception is much difference. Bottom line, both are good players, with different styles, both went to conferences that are considered high majors, with the big east probally the highest rated conference right now. My suggestion would be to go to their pre-season matchup at the KBA deal and see what you think. Will be an entertaining game.
  7. How many times have you seen Vanhoose play? Have you seen them play together? Proffitt is a very good player, especially if the story on Notre Dame is true, but Vanhoose is for real, you would have had more credibility to question Beaumont or Duncan.
  8. 6-7 studs is plenty to run with, but that is not the number at Ashland (unfortunately) and he won't get any of his players to work with until after football. This is going to be a transistion year for Ashland
  9. I don't remember a Stephen Vanhoose who ever played for Ashland? When was that? I do remember a Trey, hard working player who played with Salyers and Cooksey
  10. Your right, very Impressive, and very deserving for two girls that work as hard as anyone in the region!:thumb: I guess maybe this class of 2007 may set a record for the 16th region on d-1 athletic scholarhips, its something somebody should look up:thumb:
  11. So how many you think Maynard will average a game this year? My guess is about 10 per game, which is not bad, but is not going to strike "fear" into the hearts of the opposing coaches. Most of his points are going to come off of the help that Ferguson and Faulkner draw, not dissing, just pointing out that if he is indeed the best "pure shooter" in the region, he should be able to score more than what he is going to score, and he is going to be about the #4 scorer on his own team. I would be willing to label him as a zone buster though:thumb:
  12. I think what they are saying is if nobody is guarding Maynard, then he doesnt miss, but if someone is playing defense, they will take Hoose:thumb:
  13. Just wondering how many other schools in the state have (2) d-1 committments at this point? Russell has 2, Vanhoose and Fortman, with probally more to come, (Okoro, (track) Gill,(track) and maybe Clark (football) That is a pretty talented class:thumb:
  14. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Russell Best Player, Best Depth in the region 2. Elliot Young guns have no fear, when their hitting, watch out 3. Rose Hill Best young talent, if they get consistent outside shooter, will win their district, will be better in march 4. Ashland 3-4 solid players, then huge drop off, depth will not allow them to run like fans want 5. Rowan some solid players, will have to prove they can beat a good team, not real solid defensively 6. Greenup Will Hicks be able to pull the team together or will team implode? chemistry will be issue 7. Boyd Not sure if they know how to win but they have some solid players led by Blanton 8. Morgan Haney is solid player, supporting cast will have to prove themselves before I can move up, great coaching 9. Raceland Johnson always overachieves, decent group could pull off some surprises this year 10. East Carter shooters, but no size, rebounding and defending the post will kill them
  15. How long you gonna live in the past? Larry Conley aint got no more eligibility lol When do you realistically think we can win another region title? Hint (not in the next 5 years) Good thing we still got football
  16. ok, when do you play them, I will come and you can show me I'm wrong?
  17. Something tells me that your aau team has played Euton's aau team in the past, he was beating you pretty bad in the 4th quarter and still pressing, which led to some hard feelings on your part Would that be accurate? Is so , bash the coach, but the kids you keep bashing are as good as they come:thumb: Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd are going to be big time d-1 prospects at least on a level with Mackey , Miller, and Hopson when they are Juniors Hard to keep credibility when you bash kids like that:creepy:
  18. I think most people will agree with the following Euton and Jackson will be very good players this year, next year they will be DOMINANT players as the only players who can hold them in check will have graduated Rose Hill is geared up for a 3 year run (if they just keep the wheels on the road) Athletically, Russell is about the only team that really matches up with them this year
  19. Things have been a little slow lately, how do you get on Euton's dad's payroll?
  20. Whitt is a 6'6 senior center from Betsy Layne
  21. Burge is a nice player, but the topic it top ten, on the top ten list, who would you rank him ahead of ? I would probally pick Johnson as the best player on the raiders, the kid works.:thumb:
  22. According to Cats Paws (this is for you East Bank) 1.Landon Slone 2.Jamie Mccarty 3. JD Van Hoose 4.Jamie Case 5.Ethan Johnson 6. Devon Rice 7.Shane Grimm 8.Daniel Pugh 9.Trai Witt 10.Tim Honaker
  23. Blair got mono last year and never really recovered his strength, I look for him to have a big year this year, Russell also got a transfer named Robinson that I hear is playing very well , and I was told Ross Turner may be the most improved player in the 16th this year. Russell was rated #1 by cats Paws Ashland #2 (although they lost two starters and Elliot county only lost one and beat them ) Elliot #3 Rose Hill #4 Look for Rose Hill to get stronger as they mature throughout the season, if they find a consistent outside shooter, they will be hard to handle
