  1. Why would he blow a gasket? Ashland has two players on there, Russell only has one, the only other one with two is , oh wait, Rose Hill, I guess that makes them the co-favorites to win the region? That Ashland -Rose Hill game should be a great game for us fans!:thumb:
  2. according to Cats Paws 1.Vanhoose 2.Mcdavid 3.Daniels 4.Ferguson 5.Jackson 6.Euton 7.Thomas 8.Haney 9.Barker 10.Wolfenbarker Not a bad list, couple you could argue about are Faulkner and Blair and Gill Any comments?
  3. So what do you all think of the Rowan County girls schedule? Could Owens make that team? :sssh:
  4. that pretty much sums it up , and my guess last years Boyd County Players would agree with you check back with me and let me know what you think when last years "no talent" team as you call them exceed what they did last year by making it to the Regional
  5. I don't consider Owens a very good basketball player, he is a very good athlete, but he takes away from his teammates. He is not as good an athlete as Bill Walker or Marques Dawson, and I would much rather have an Arless Beach, Vanhoose, Mcdavid or several other players on my team if I was going to play the upcomng season. I have this sinking feeling that Owens will never play beyond the juco level. I hope I'm wrong
  6. I don't think you can blame Pratt, has Owens ever played on a championship team? Did he win any of the all star games he played in ? Owens is a tremendous talent but he has never been shown how to be a teammate. Pratt is a good coach, but he didnt hold Owens accountable. That is the only thing he is guilty of. Boyd County will go farther this year than they did last year is my guess.
  7. I do believe the 16th got the first d-1 committment in the state for the class of 2007! I will check with Vanhoose and see if he thinks Euton or Jackson can play, that should settle this argument
  8. I wouldnt get too worked up over Bolus's list, it just a list, he got a lot of the players right and some he missed really bad, like dropping Pettigrew down to 6? That is obvious flaw and having Wade in top ten,:sssh: and I don't know who the last two kids on the list are, but its just one guy's opinion, I would like to get a list from him of people who actually buy this list, I bet that never gets released, would cost him too many camper, he sells his camp that "hundreds" of colleges buy his ratings, and I just don't believe that. As far as needing a good pr man to get on the list, that is not accurate, you just need to go to his camp and throw down a few dunks, that will get you on there quicker than anything.
  9. As of this date, Antonio has not shown the discipline it will take to play on any d-1 level, hopefully, he will get it, if not, he is going to have a great streetball career
  10. What other 8th graders that you know of accomplished more on the varsity level? Just starting for a varsity team isnt bad in the 8th grade, who do you think is better as a 9th grader this year that will have MORE impact for their high school team? Facts can be sobering
  11. Clark has a nose for the end zone like no kid I have ever seen:thumb: He just won't be denied !
  12. one of the most dominating defensive performances I've seen this year, can't wait for JC game:thumb:
  13. I would say a verbal is as "good" as a signing in this instance. The signing is just a formality
  14. 1.You don't get a red shirt year in High School, the clock starts ticking when you enter 9th grade (ask Bill Walker) 2. You have to pass the previous year to be eligible the next year Owens High School career is over
  15. I don't think you'll ever see Owens in a d-1 uniform, and its not for Lack of Talent, too bad
  16. Congrats to one of the top shooters (if not the top?) in the state! The kid can pull it up off the dribble!:thumb: The 16th doesnt get too many of these, my guess is the whole state will be in single digits for 2007
  17. Seems like a few years ago, there was a Kid named Mayo who lived across te river and went to Rose Hill. Ashland said their principles wouldnt allow them to play them. Now, there is a kid named Mayo, who lives across the river from his school, and Ashland is playing them? Has the principles changed? Is Ashland trying to cancel this game? This sounds like "DEJAVU ALL OVER AGAIN" (sorry I couldnt resist that one)
  18. Hmmm, probally an oversight, but you have Asland ranked ahead of Russell in your poll, but you pick Russell to win the region? I believe that has happened before
  19. I Think you would have to say Beach was ultimately the better back than West, based on what he was able to accomplish after High School. Unless you have the same system and play the same competition, you can't compare stats in high school as an exact science or determine who is really better, although Thomas will never amass the stats Clark has had in high school. Clark has always been a runner, Thomas is just now starting to show his potential
  20. "after" and "actual offers" are two different things. There are an awful lot of letters out there floating around that never result in real offers I can almost guarantee you Knowles will not get an actual scholarship from Kansas State or UMass
  21. I dont think Thomas will ever equal Clark's stats from High School, the question is who will end up and have the better college career. Thomas may have an edge there because of his speed, although Thomas will never equal Clark's toughness
  22. Why would those be considered the "best scholly in the state"? Where is Pettigrew and Brooks going to sign? Proffitt? Bechkham? Those players would appear to set the standard on the quality of scholarship
  23. They are probally the top two backs in this area, Kasey is stronger and tougher, Matt is faster and just now coming into his own. Kasey has a much longer track record and a lot more career stats plus that state title. Which one would you draft first? Which one do you think will play at a higher level in college?
