Boys, boys, boys this thread reminds me of the old saying that if you start something on one side of a room and tell each person to repeat it that it willl be a totally different at the end. For the very last time (whyme) if you have all of this proof on whoever it may be then you should get in touch with the KHSAA and get things rolling, if not lets stick to football topics and not the second gunman theory. And on the subject of the shoes if that is a source of concern then buy them from someone from outside the county and let the money leave, that makes much more sense.

Anyone should know that all the good kids in the county are at least 15 in the 8th grade.

I will touch on the subject of a coach contacting a middle school player,if you are caught doing it then you should get what you deserve. Whyme you have accused the boys basketball coach at Harlan of these things and I still don't think that you have any basis for these accusations and these are some very serious matters, and when you can hide behind a screen name and say this type of information for your sake I hope that you can prove you statments. (Again for the second time this has to do with some people that might move back to Harlan not anything about middle school kids from the county that might want to go to school there.

Whyme, you have got to be the most paranoid human on the planet. You took my comment and twisted the meaning to some sort of conspiracy against the school district that you so, adamantly support. So now (again I must set the record straight).I had a conversation with a couple of old friends that are considering moving back to Harlan for job situations and they happen to have kids that are playing football for other schools at this time,and they told me that if they infact do move they want their sons to play at Harlan. Also if you are saying that a board member of HISD is currently involved in the practice of recruiting kids to this district, I say that is just a load of crap. It also is a very strong statment to accuse someone of if you don't have proof. (which I don't think that you do).

Coach Donahue will have to work extra hard this spring and summer to get this team up to the same level as the last few years. The talent rollercoaster ride that is the common theme for most class A schools is going to cause a dip in the skill players this year at Harlan. On the the other hand there might be some kids that are not in the Harlan system right now that may be moving in and this can change things in a hurry. Stay tuned!

Both of these teams are very inconsistent and have yet to get a quality win over a better team, Harlan played very well at home vs Bell last friday and Cawood played Cumberland pretty close on the road last night without Caldwell so this game will be up to which ever teams wants it the most. Cawood has won every game for the last 5 plus years and some trends are hard to break.

Talked to one of the coaches and he said that the numbers are still running around 50 working out, this does not include basketball players and 8th graders that will come out. So with these numbers spring ball should very good for the Trojans.

Coach Larkey has had some health issues in the past that might impact a decision to take over a start up program, but a great coach none the less. Another coach from the same staff at Cawood during Culley's run that has Harlan Co. ties is Bill Musick, great coach who really put Johnson Central on the map during his time in Paintsville. He is now in administration at Fairview Ind.

Does this make three or four coaches that you have not been banging a drum for? RUM PA PM PM !

We are working out the details as we speak, I want more than a one year deal and some other perks, such as waggle 12 as my QB coach, and whyme as LB coach now I know practice would be a war!!

At the quarterback postition, and running the option I would take a smart kid over one that may be a better athlete any day.

Brain this is hitting the nail right on the head, sometimes it takes longer for things to be worked out at the state level, but rest asured that this had a higher infulence (if you will) involved.

Brain if coach Perry is going to run the triple he better find a quarterback that can run this type of offense and that may not be as easy as some might think.

Jim is still a very respected figure in this area, he always seems to have a "class" about him that is hard to find these days, so I duly say go Purple Devils. What is it about the mountains that calls us back after making a successful escape? Mark Woolum has been in FL. for a few years now and from what I here has had some success there, but FL. talent and southeast KY. talent are miles and miles apart. This is not to suggest that he would not be a very good canidate for this job, but after coaching the speed that is in FL. and coming back home where there is basicly none and he may spend many long nights thinking about palm trees. Also Mark is Tuck's younger brother (much younger) lol.

Also coaching at the high school level is very different from the middle school level. (No disrespect just fact).

Brain you have raised some points of interest,but the fact of the matter is that nothing was done out of line in this matter. A coaching job is extra service and although the KHSAA prefers a person that is within the school it is not law. (Notice) within the school not the district, the superintent receives the letters of intent on the opening and after a reasonable ammount of time makes his recomendation to the pricipal as to who the best canidate is. The principal then can agree or disagree and then hire who he wants. A coaching position does not go through the school board. The question here is a reasonable ammount of time and that is clearly a matter of opinion.

I think that this should be a cage match with chairs chains and whips. I am pretty sure that I could permote this one and we could split the profits with the Cawood football boosters. Now that it community sprit at its best.

Making sure that this good group of middle school players remember that having success at 7-8 level is not a career maker. nobody remembers what is done at that level,and to not play on in high school is not how you want to be remembered.
