Cawood - Harlan Predictions (2/9/07)

Featured Replies

Both teams needing to start an upswing as the season heads toward tourney time...both would be long shots to make the 13th regional as Bell and Cumberland would be favored in the extra-large 6-team 52nd district (also holds Middlesboro and Evarts)...I think it will be close with Harlan at home but Cawood appeared too physical in the first matchup.

Any thoughts...

Hard to tell with these two teams. Both are inconsistent. Curtis needs to stay on the floor for Harlan to win. I will say it will be a close game with the outcome no larger than five points either way.

Is Josh Caldwell playing in this game? I didn't see his name in the box score against Evarts, and I heard he wasn't at school yesterday. If Caldwell is healthy, I think Cawood will win in a close one. On the other hand, if Caldwell is out, Harlan will win by, in my opinion, double digits.

Cawoodballplayer continues to disappoint me with his input on numerous topics (just like the new coach issue)...nevertheless I don't think Cawood has been 100% healthy all year. Checking the last 5 years, Harlan hasn't beaten Cawood. It will be a good rival game as always, and with Caldwell still out, Harlan has better opportunity. Nevertheless, Cawood beat Evarts by 39 on Monday and Harlan beat Evarts by 8 on Tuesday. That is why they play the game.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe Harrison played against Cawood in the last meeting. He has helped the Dragons team. Harlan also beat M'boro by 19 at M'boro, and Cawood lost there. But, like you said, that is why they play the game.

Middlesboro was without their post players the night harlan played them and had no answer rebounding inside.

Both of these teams are very inconsistent and have yet to get a quality win over a better team, Harlan played very well at home vs Bell last friday and Cawood played Cumberland pretty close on the road last night without Caldwell so this game will be up to which ever teams wants it the most. Cawood has won every game for the last 5 plus years and some trends are hard to break.

With the way BJ Nolan played against Cumberland last night (20 points, 11 boards) Harlan may be in trouble if Caldwell plays or not. If Cawood could get some - a word we have all used - consistency out of both of these post players, the district tournament will be a lot more exciting.

Hope Caldwell gets to play. It was a close game at Cawood and will probably be a close one tomorrow no mater who gets to play for both teams.
