Well first things first... Gotta get a coach...

Kathy Goff is the Superintendent of the Glasgow Independent School System. Kelly Bell is the Principal of Glasgow High School. I don't think they really had much choice but to make the decision themselves. Like I said before, why create a committee if your not going to listen to their suggestion? They should've just reviewed the applications themselves and not have gotten any other opinions. Should the school board have been involved? Personally I believe the school board should have other things to worry about rather then who the football coach is going to be.

Rick Wood was the popular choice, but from what I understand he'd withdrew his name prior to the signing of Jason Esters. Craig Cassidy (former GMS football coach and current GHS assistant) was also in the running as well. But I'm not even sure if he's still coaching after this incident. What Glasgow needs now is someone from out of state. Possibly from a thrid world country. I can't imagine anyone wanting to be put in the situation Mr. Esters was.

For the record, I agree with James Brown in his article when he says "She shouldn't have created a committee". Knowing Glasgow something like this was bound to happen. This greatly hurts the image of not only Mrs. Goff and Mrs. Bell... But also the citizens of Glasgow that whined until they got their way. Absolutely NOTHING good has came out of this. The true victim here is Jason Esters. All the poor guy wanted to do was be the head coach at a "traditionally rich" school. Now he's been run out of town. Why anyone would want this job now is beyond me?

I don't have a link in hand just yet... But talk around town is that Esters resigned today. Folks, if Glasgow was the size of New York City or LA, they'd have absolutely NOTHING on us! For a town (county actually) that was recently voted #1 place to live in America, we've had some major catastrophies go down here. This is just another one.

Starting next Saturday at E.A Diddle Arena: 12pm- Cumberland County vs. Bowling Green 1:30pm- Allen County-Scottsville vs. Russellville 6:30pm- Warren Central vs. Russell County 8:00pm- Franklin-Simpson vs. Barren County Seems to me that the 16th district really got the raw end of the deal. Allen County-Scottsville probably got the best hand dealt that they could've gotten. Franklin-Simpson SHOULD be able to handle Barren County. My prediction will be an all 14th district final again between Warren Central and Bowling Green.

I'll have to eat my words here. Cumberland Co. ended up beating Russell Co. Looks like the Patriots will have a tough draw all the way around the board.

:eek: A suprising score from the 4th region! If anyone knows anything about this game please give us a recap? I assumed Russell would've been a heavy favorite! Congrats Cumberland County!

As far as the 4th region tournament goes, I believe the best draw ACS could get would probably be Cumberland Co. (assuming they lose to Russell County tonight). ACS is a very average team. I really can't see them competing with either Russellville or Franklin-Simpson out of the 13th district and I certainly don't see them playing with Warren Central or Bowling Green out of the 14th district.

The Allen County-Scottsville Patriots win the 15th District Championship. The 6-9 Phillip Hayes and the Patriots Press were the deciding factor in this one. Barren County kept up for about 2 and 1/2 quarters and was only down by about 4 at halftime before ACS took off. Congrats to the Patriots!

Suprising to see the Raiders keep up with the Dragons for 3 quarters. Final score isn't suprising though. Welcome back to Diddle Dragons! :thumb:

Would this be a big upset if Hoptown won? Isn't Christian County one of the top teams in the state this year?

That has seemed to be the case for pretty much the last 8 years. Even with no Warren Central at Diddle last year it was still an all 14th district final. I figured Glasgow could spoil some dreams this year... But so much for that. Personally I just don't see the 16th district making much noise, even though Clinton beat Russellville earlier. Allen County could be a great team if they'd just keep their cool and not play stupid ball. They have a 6'9 Center and a Forward that can jump out of the building. Not to mention the quality of the 3 point shooters on the team.

Not many topics for the 4th region... So I thought I'd start one. I'd say Warren Central is the front runner with Bowling Green close behind. There is no doubt in my mind though that the rest of the region is licking their chops to get draw one of the 15th district teams at Diddle. Allen County's struggled and Barren County shocked the 4th region by just being there. Any other 4th regioners out there like to chime in?

Barren County's 3-2 zone gave Glasgow fits all night. Glasgow also wasn't able to make the shots that won them games all year long. Cameron Hall finished with 14 points.. About 10-15 points below his average. Ben Hubbard, Tyler Hughes, Caleb Dubree, and Michael Toms were huge for Barren County. The Scotties led by 3 in the 4th quarter when Michael Toms hit 2 threes back to back. The Trojans got to OT and won in the end. Amazing game!

HUGE upset in the 4th region. The 4 win Barren County takes down the #1 seed in the 15th district the 18- and now 6 Glasgow Scotties. You shut down Cameron Hall and Craig Mosier and you beat Glasgow. Plain and Simple... Huge huge huge upset!

I like Coach Lindsey... I think he made the right move though stepping down. I have no problem with the guy wanting to still coach. But I think it's good he gave up the Head Coach title. As far as Esters goes, I'm anxious to see what his playbook looks like. I hope he mixes it up a little more then Lindsey did. Hopefully the new QB will be able to be a little bit more mobile. There was almost absolutely no blocking last year. If the same thing happens this year, I'd like to see the QB take off and scramble some. I believe he used to be a linemans coach though at WC... So hopefully he'll work with the line and strengthen them up.

He played for Lindsey at BC. And yes I do believe Lindsey is staying on as an assistant coach. As far as Glasgow goes, they lost a little bit.. But have 2 RB's, pretty much the whole offense and defensive line back. You can't get any worse then it did last season... So I can only assume things will get better. Which I believe they will. I'm going to go with a 5-6 or 6-5 year.
