Lady Royals play their second game of the tournament at 2:30. Any predictions or comments. Williamsburg is 6-2 and Mason Co. is 0-8 after losing another close game last night.

5 losses by a total of 14 pts. and only one double digit loss.

I forgot Owensboro, if my mind doesn't leave me, they have made the most trips to the Sweet 16 of any school in the state.

Paintsville in the 15th and Clay Co. out of the 12th have to be 2 more programs over the last 25 yrs. that year in and year out have tradition and success.

To answer the first question, Clark and Mason are in the 10th region together. Also in reguards to Henry Clay, they were really strong in the 70's with James Lee and Co. but their 5 other championships came between 1918 and 1924. Were some real good battles between Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Lafayette and Tates Creek in the 70's district and regional tournaments.

I have to agree about Ashland not being a major player on the state level like years ago. You can list many resons too blame. I can remember my dad talking about playing at Ashland, used to be a big deal, to travel to Ashland or have them come to your place to play. Also, except for the LIT in Louisville, the AIT was the holiday tournament to play in and if you won it you were considered a top team in the state.

Will be a good game and a close game. I'm rooting for the 10th Region though, and GRC by 3 to 5 pts. With BCG in da house!

I checked the KHSAA records, Ashland won their last title in 1961, GRC won their only title in 1951. I remember Clark Co. defeating Mason Co. in back to back regional title games in 68 & 69 then they didn't return until the mid eighties, when the Mason Co. Clark Co. rivalry was really hot. If you want to list top programs, Henry Clay and Lafayette are tied with 6 championships each, the most of any school. Henry Clay's last title was in 83, and of course Lafayette won in 2001.

Paducah Tilghman and Marshall Co. out of the first region come to mind. They usually have consistant programs year in and year out and seem to make a little noise in Lexington when they come.

Really, Johnathon Fraysure did the game and he was having problems figuring it out. I don't think the tournament mgr. envisioned this scenareo.:confused:

This is according to WFTM, if Brossart wins, St. Pat. plays 3rd place game against Fleming Co. at 6:30. If Bracken Co. wins, Brossart, Bracken, and St. Pat. all will have 2-1 records in pool play, a 3-way tie and effidently they haven't told anyone how the tie-breaker will be determined. They said they would have the answer on the noon news tomorrow. Of course someone on here will have that answer before then and everyone on here will already know.

If Brossart wins, St Pat. plays at 6:30 for third place. If Bracken wins there is a 3-way tie for first, and they didn't know what would happen until after the game.

Russell plays for 7th place. If Bracken Co. upsets Bishop Brossart, I think they get a rematch with Fleming Co. per WFTM.
