There will be more then 25 kids trying out for each of the 3 squads at Ryle this year, I assure you. You have 8 from the 07 varsity team, about 18 from the J V team plus kids that didn't try out last year, new to the school ect. Pat will have plenty to look at.

I've been around baseball in Northern KY for about 20 years and I think it is on the upswing. With facilities like Champions and The Yard and more and more kids playing SWO AABC instead of knothole, they play alot more games against much better competition. Kids today not only have great baseball skills but great baseball IQ's as well. I love to watch these kids play.

40 Post on here making every excuse under the sun as to why Highlands lost, and one or two giving congrats to the Raiders and you just can't handle it. Bottom line. Ryle played better then Highlands. Ryle won.

Thought you guys were supposed to have a pretty good basketball program over there. Guess not.

A few years ago, varsity at Ryle was pretty much "open class". In fact, 3 years ago coach Roesel started 5 sophmores. With their recent succcess at all levels, freshmen, JV and varsity and higher involvement in the Cincinnati AABC summer leagues, turnout has been tremoundus. So now, according to the Ryle web site, only juniors and seniors can tryout for varsity.

That's why they have to ALL A competition. And Beechwood and LCA, two small schools seem to compete very well.

Ryle will field a freshmen team too. Hard to get a total number, JV and Frosh start a few days earlier then the varsity. They break it up seniors and juniors for varsity, everyone else for JV, freshmen and 8th graders for frosh.

With tryouts just around the corner, what kind of turnout does your school expect. I know Ryle had about 80 kids for the Varsity and JV squads last season, don't expect anything less this year. GET YOUR UNDERARMOR OUT BOYS.

You've got to be kidding. Leatherby is the only true infielder listed. Reid is better then average, but he prooves his value with his bat.

Glad you know what schools these kids were talking to. I'am Garrett's dad and I know every letter and phone call and visit he made. Mr. Humphrey kept me pretty well posted on who Brent was talking to and as far as Vince, Navy asked for baseball films as well. Just keep telling yourself you know it all though, you'll feel better about yourself.

Forgot to add Dylan Campbell....Football and Baseball...he may play both.

That's the game that the old guy forgot to tell us that Midland used wood bats. LOL I ribbed him big time on that one.

Not sure about the kids comming up on the 08 Raiders, but last year, Wags, Hump and Murray had D1 interest. As far as 2 sport players Vince Murray for football and Baseball....not sure he will have time for basebal though. Austin Seabald for baseball and soccer....he will play both I understand. I am sure there are a few more, have to get out the yearbooks. Ryle Raider Jocks Rock.

You're talking to the wrong guy, I could care less if the KY Colonels win or lose. The Old Guy has the KC fixation. I like the KY Kings programs and coaches.

Not "dishing" Elliot, just said his stats are unavailable, and when I saw him play h went 1 for 8. Not a "dish" just a fact. And I know nothing about Ball State except they are and Muncie IN, and according to a couple customers I have up there, not a big athletic school. Apparently, when they scouted Elliott, he did not go 1 for 8. As forr the Ryle kids, I know several have D1 interest, some in 2 sports.

Really? Kings beat the KY Colonels last summer while a few of their starters were still playing High School ball.

I know B Wood doesn't publish stats, that's why I watch Elliot when we play him and as I said, he went 1 for 8. Adams and Darner, didn't see them in the hitting leaders last year. But don't let the facts confuse you.
