Nice showing by my Cards, against the #2 team in the nation. Scott County record may show it, but they are a good team. Come March they will be right in the thick of it. They have another tough test against Chris Singleton and Dunwoody.

They will still compete against in state team. But when you continually face teams that are ranked in the nation, it is sometimes hard to win without that one star player. I would have to think that Scott was invited to all these tournaments because of Bud. Come March I believe they will be one of the favorites to win the 11th and the state.

Final Scott loses 69-83. Just noticed Hundley shot 3/14 from the field. Not good. Oh well they played them tough for 3 quarters.

Tyler Portwood has only taken six shots tonight. He has to shoot more than that for Scott to win. Ge-lawn shoots to much.

Scott leads at the half over the 20th ranked team in the nation. Scott and Mason both showing what Kentucky high school basketball is all about.

Tyler Portwood has to be one of the best in the state. He has hit 27 of 56 shots from long range. Shooting 48% from behind the arch. I think those numbers would put him near the top.

Final from the City of Palms.Scott County was led by Tyler Portwood with 25 and Richie Phares with 21 points and 10 rebounds. They move on to the quarterfinals.

I really dont see Clay holding Scott County to sixty points. Ill go Scott by 20.

I agree with you, if they are top 10 nationally it is a really weak year. Simeon missed alot of open shots last night and seemed very easily rattled. Top 10 teams rarely do either of these. However glad to see Catholic win.As always its gone to be a wild year in the 11th.

Simeon sure doesnt look like the #9 team in the nation. Catholics defense is stiffling them.

I think Ge-lawn will improve, he actually looked better tonight than he did against Ballard. Another thing they miss is Matt Walls foul shooting. Scott County was a good free throw shooting team last year, this year they cant seem to find their stroke. But Walls shooting 92% last year perhaps covered up others poor foul shooting. It was still an excellent performance tonight.

He does have the same type of build.

Richie Phares had a great game 21 points & 10 rebounds. He is rapidly becoming one of the best Juniors in the state. Portwood also played very well with 20 points. Scott County would be very dangerous if they could quit turning the ball over.

The 11th is a little tougher than the 10th. Also as good as Scott Co. was two years ago, I never belived they were the #1 team in the state. They were a team that basically relied on freshman and sophmores. Their lack of experience hurt them against Bullitt East and against Madison Central. If I remember correctly Mason Co. did start a few seniors and juniors last year. I believe you cant compare the two situations.
