Final from the City of Palms.Scott County was led by Tyler Portwood with 25 and Richie Phares with 21 points and 10 rebounds. They move on to the quarterfinals.

This game was played at 11pm last night, was a tad upset that the Ft Meyers newspaper nor the "official" website of the tournament posted the score. Nice win for Scott Co, they will play Chester High School from Pennsylvania Thursday night at 9:30.

 

Chester features Nasir Robinson a 6-foot-5 guard that averages 18 points a game, he has already signed to go to Pittsburgh.

Great win for Scott Co. Glad to see Portwood have a great game. Sat with his grandparents at the State tourney last year. I always try to keep up with how he is doing.

I was surprised by the final score margin and after reading this in the local paper in Florida about the game, it maybe explains why.

Wednesday they attended class, caught a late afternoon flight to Fort Myers — arriving at 6:30 p.m. — and played their first game at the City of Palms Classic.

The whirlwind day finally caught up to the Spartans, who fell 92-74 to Scott County (Ky.).

 

“No doubt it was a tough day for our kids. Most of them got up at 5 a.m. to take finals. Not to take anything away from (Scott County) because there are good, but it was a long day,” said Hales Franciscan coach Gary London.

Hey they were aware of when they play. But i have to say the were a good team but we put together a complete 4 quarters of basketball SC way.
