Healthcare as a 'right'
doubledeuce replied to Bluegrasscard's topic in Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy
Exactly my point they have the right to associate with that job or not. No one is forcing them to take that job. Just like no one should have a right to health care, no one should have a right to work. Conservatives also tend to be against smoking bans in private businesses/ restaurants. Their logic is that if you do not want to want to work or shop where smoking is permitted, then don't apply or patronize that establishment. But that logic is not applied to right to work. -
Why I love Chuck
doubledeuce replied to formerkywrestler's topic in National Basketball Association (NBA)
I like when he said that Gasol did not costs the Lakers the series because of one shot he passed up. Charles said that is was total BS and that Kobe costs them the game because he was playing "hero" basketball!! -
Is that Cruella Deville playing guitar with Steven Tyler?

This Holiday person performing is scaring me!!! Does her jaw become unhinged like a python?

Healthcare as a 'right'
doubledeuce replied to Bluegrasscard's topic in Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy
I find it odd that the conservatives do not view health care as a "right" but they support all the "right to work" bills. -
Exactly, it is easier now for qbs than it was then because of the rule changes. Drew Brees, IMO, is the most accurate qb in the NFL. Has anyone ever seen the episode on tv where Brees takes on an archer. The target was 20 yds and Brees hit the bullseye 10 for 10 and the archer was 8 for 10. Absolutely amazing to watch.

Should MLB managers have to wear uniforms?
doubledeuce replied to Blue Magic's topic in Major League Baseball (MLB)
They should not wear them. It looks even worse when high school coaches wear the team uniform!! They look like beer league softball guy still trying to live his Al Bundy type dream. -
Ohio Senate wants welfare tied to clean drug tests
doubledeuce replied to theguru's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
Does anyone think that this sill deter the ones who have problems? It will not and in the long term it will cost society even more if they loss their welfare benefits. The ones who need it will get it one way or the other. They will steal, rob, and beg to get what they need. So then they will end up in jail to pay for their addictive behavior. That will costs a lot more for taxpayers. I could see MAYBE if they do test that they make treatment mandatory but still keep the benefits. But I still do not like the idea of testing. -

Where will the line be drawn? For those who say that they are receiving tax payer funds so they should be tested. Where does it end? We all use the roads we drive on and those are paid for with tax money. So why not drug test everyone? All public school kids should be drug tested to. -
Jenalee Ginn (Walton Verona) Ky Career Hits Leader
doubledeuce replied to madman's topic in KY Softball (High School)
I remember years ago when when I was watching my daughter play on the select fast pitch circuit with her sister. Jenalee would play up and you could see how talented and athletic she was at an earlier age. Congrats Jenalee!!! -
Brandon Hatton garnering buzz....
doubledeuce replied to HoosierDaddy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I know that nobody will believe me when I say this. Hatton is a much better football player than basketball, IMO. I think he would definitely be a high D1 qb. He has an absolute cannon for an arm. Most have already seen his athleticism on the court and it transfers to the field very well. -
Very well said!! He will be missed, RIP AL.

Conner QB Receives Invitation to Elite 11
doubledeuce replied to Clyde's topic in KY Football (High School)
Yep. That team had a pretty good run of Qbs. Also, a couple of years before that the same team had Nick West(Conner), Conner Hempel(Ryle), Matt Rigdon(Beechwood), Nate Alford( Boone) . The following year Taylor Davis(Beechwood) came to the team and was Hempels back up. After that season Blake Bir moved up to the team and was Taylors back up. Along with Blake Ingolia who will be the starting qb at Boone this season. And before that coach left that team he had drafted Barker to be Birs back up. Not to bad of a run of Qbs... -

I remember him saying that he chose T over X. I want to say his name was Ryan but I am not sure and I think he moved to Louisville in before 8th grade. -

Barker made top 5. Drew was the only 2014, junior to be, to get ranked that high. -
When the guy who won passed me and my wife, I told her he is "running" faster than I can sprint. And he was going for 26 miles, absolutely amazing to see in person.
