I have heard there is a Buddy Garrity-type in Greenup County. You know the car salesman in the show Friday Night Lights that has deep pockets and has his paws on the program of the Dillon Panthers. I had heard he is the guy that runs the Ice dispensing company down there and has made life miserable for the administration at GC. Supposedly he told the powers at the school he would oppose any coach they hire, because of what has transpired. Seriously, this guy needs to CHILL, or at least FREEZE IT.

I really think that the NBA stuff is going to hurt Florida in this game. We still have the O Magic getting ready to load up the bus for Donovan as well. Honestly, I feel the only reason Donovan turned down UK was because he plans on getting to the NBA sooner rather than later. That speculation is starting to bear its fruit. If Donovan can swing these two despite the rumors and the non-rebuttals to them....hats off to them. Very similar to Pitino's last two years at UK when the NBA stuff was rampant every offseason, which coincided with two of his poorer recruiting classes at UK. Duke is a real possibility, but all three are legit options. I got an email today saying that UK is a real likely destination for both but will only believe it when it happens, based on this whole process being dragged out so long.

Understand, it seems Hampton would have been a nice hire. Bottom line, they have allowed this Hicks issue to become far too big. Make a stand, don't buckle from the pressure. If you truly believe you have done the right thing as an administration, then you are straightforward and have a vision of what your program should be, and stick to it. No reason to be sidetracked by the maniacal actions of their former coach.

Does Dad win out? Bob Gibbons says he thinks that each kid may go there seperate ways. Who knows but it will all be over soon.

It became known today that Taurean Greene signed with an agent. Now the wacky part is that a UF site is claiming that John and Jai Lucas were both in attendance at the signing. Very odd and not sure if it is even true. Things can change on a dime in the recruiting world.

In this sense yes, when you factor in who is playing here now. However, what the Reds got in return is still very questionable. Even though both Kearns and Lopez havent been lighting the world on fire, the Reds presently have zero to show for it. They could have possibly gotten more elsewhere.

Sanchez is not an REAL at this point. He has not been offered contrary to what some have reported. He has real close ties to Arkansas. We shall see.

In addition, I would like to say that Duke is not out of the equation. Pretty much a two team race for Lucas and a three team race for PP. If PP goes to Duke Lucas will be at UK.

Actually the timing is not that grreat for BD, but it only takes one team to agree to give him complete control.

I have exchanged correspondances with a friend of mine who is fairly in-tune with recruiting and UK, and provides good scoop. There is some scuttlebutt that Lucas may be holding off on a decision to see what exactly Patterson does. However, it may seem that things may be coming to a head by Friday, if not sooner. It may be that these two (JL & PP) are attached at the hip. There has been some positive movement regarding Patterson and UK. For a while Lucas has had UK right there with his top choices. I think that John Lucas and Tywanna Patterson are the ones driving this recruitment and ultimately the decision, not so much that they will choose the school but are processing the information that will impact the decision. One thing that has been popping up and has gained footing is Donovan's flirtations with the NBA. There is evidence that Donovan met with the Grizzlies and the Heat are not done with Donovan. This is an issue. Hence, John Lucas has a feeling that BD may not be there for four years that his son is in school. The same can be said for the Patterson's. One of the things that the Patterson's have repeatedly said is they were looking to get to know BCG more. Gillispie made an appearance in Huntington after visiting with Chris Singleton last week, there is some speculation that he proceeded with information obtained at that meeting and flew to Illinois and passed on word to Hamga not to commit at that point, that a scholarship may not be available. Gillispie will be speaking in Huntington, this week, at the HHS banquet. As of now, it looks like something will happen later this week, and by all I have heard, things are looking very positive for UK. Not going to say it is a "done deal", but that UK is in a great position.

ESPN's Todd McShay's early look at the NFL Draft had Brian Brohm as the overall #1 pick. It is on the Insider's Page on ESPN. Other notables... The #2 QB out there? Andre Woodson, who was picked as the 7th best overall prospect. Kennan Burton was selected 4th best WR in the group and TE Jacob Tamme was selected 4th best TE. Some positive pub for the UK guys.

Yeah, I read that his main three were UK, Kansas and Oklahoma, and OK wants both him and the Clarke. I think getting Legion probably bumped them back a bit.
