  1. I can see where you might have thought that, and I apologize if you took it that way.......but the reason why I put that was because, a lot of high school kids, in all sports, truth be told, don't realize how much more they can give, effort wise, until they get to college and it's too late to go back and change anything that they did in high school. I have a pretty good idea that you have one in your household that knows exactly what I am talking about....despite a hug LEADER was for Jaggers's teams in 2005 and 2006. His mentality and the way he approached PRACTICE and GAMES we're inspiring too all around him, anybody will tell you that. At the sametime, I'm sure that when he got to fall camp this year in college, despite how HARD he went in HS, realized how much more he could give. But, that's just one of those things, for the most part, that you don't really learn until you experience it....one of those life lessons, unfortunately.......I found out the samething, sameway.
  2. Do you?? Come share that with me sometime. The only finger pointing I've seen is from your orginal post about the offense being predictable, and with that, you meant the play calling, comming from Marty Jaggers himself. You completely took those words out of context, flat out. Never was ever said about that the players don't execute, execution just has to be better....also, I don't ever recall anybody, in particular myself in my last post or EVER for that matter saying that plays can't be made (offensively), because they have...see Southwestern. You obviously didn't take into context how positive I am being comming from the last part of my last post. Things are going to get better. You can mark that down!! As I have said before....... Thanks for your support and thank you and your family does for our program!:thumb:
  3. I don't have time to go into every little detail.....all I can tell you and others is it's not the play calling or even how things are drawn up to to be blocked, it comes down to better execution (blocking and all of the inritcate technical details that must happen, MAXIMUM EFFORT, holding onto the ball, making a play when it is present, etc.). Period. And guess what?! It will! Thank you for your support!:thumb:
  4. My man Joe on a good call, again.:thumb:. I mean, it's not exactly like we're trying to split atoms in a chemistry experiment here when you look at what stopped Mercer the other nite, along with a couple other things.
  5. Another tough pill to swallow. This now makes 3 losses by a total of 9 points. Here is the VERY ODD and weird thing about this game last nite. Mercer had 350 yards rushings (counting the yards gained before a fumble after a 45 yard gain) and had NO PUNTS!:creepy: In a weird way of saying it, Mercer didn't have the option of ever punting....fumbles (4), penalties (and I'm not being a homer here, but some were about as bad as I have ever seen. I think others will agree. I mean, DRIVE STOPPING penalties deep in Watertown territory) or just didn't convert on 4th downs down in Watertown deep half of the field. As Joe said, the Titan defense played great again!! @ Hopkinsville this week. Get this one out of your heads, it's done, it's over and dwelling on it isn't going to make it come back and let us replay it. Time to move on. Get better!!!:thumb:
  6. Nobody being defensive here, I can promise you that. Great friends. They talk football all the time and help one another whenever they can. I think it will be a game that is played in time, just not here in the next year or two... and I agree, I think it would be a great one, not just for the players but for the communties. :thumb:
  7. No, not defensive at all about it. All of us are looking forward to it. I just wanted to settle the false rumors going around Harrodsburg that this team was a pitiful one, among other things. That's all. I just said Metro Tennessee because most don't know where Lebanon is, but it's relatively close to Nashville. Know what I mean?! I've heard the same thing about the officiating, too...from others who have ventured from KY to the VOL state. I'm sure we will get served up some bacon, eggs, sausage and biscuits on a couple calls. Thanks for the wishes and info!
  8. Thanks!:thumb: I saw the Trousdale County film, and they sure aren't shy of any athletes, that's for dang sure!! I've heard from a good friend of mine that I played college ball with, he played for his dad at Westmoreland, TN (Class AA) that Trousdale County is always a force to be reckoned with, whoever they play, any class. They (Trousdale Co) have a few guys that looked like they could play in a Danville uniform.
  9. To end some rumors and to maybe help share some info for others...I thought I'd fill some in that were wondering. For whatever reason, a RUMOR has been going around that the Watertown (Nashville metro area) team that Mercer plays this week isn't a good one, well, that's the biggest bunch of hogwash I've ever heard, especially if that's comming from people who don't know 1st hand. Granted, their records the past couple years haven't been very good....but, that's why it's called the 2007 Season and not the "2007, mixed with the success or lack of from 2005 and 2006 Season". If that was the case, Mercer could erase the two losses this year, replace them with last years at this point and still be 5-0. Now, are they a St.X, Trinity, Highlands, Boyle, LexCath, CovCath, etc.?? No...few in our state or in any country are of that status and prestige. As of this week: *Watertown, TN is 3-1 * They are ranked #10 in the AP Class A poll. * Two weeks ago, they beat the 6 TIME State Champ, Trousdale County, 7-0. Trousdale County's most recent championship seasons were 2005, 1998 and 1993. * Watertown lost last week to Friendship Christian (17-0), of Lebanon, TN. Friendship Christian is ranked #3 in the Class A Associate Press poll this week. Keep in mind, Tennessee has a 5 Class system for public schools and a 2 Class system for ALL private schools. Here is guessing, that Tennessee's Class A is as competitive and strong as Kentucky's.....a Class A in Kentucky that has the likes of Beechwood, Mayfield, Pikeville, Lou. Holy Cross, Frankfort, etc. ranked in it's top 10. We all know or have a pretty good idea how good those people are, regardless of Class size! I hope this helps?!:thumb: If you want to check out their field, go to this site http://musicbox.sonybmg.com/video-player/kellie_pickler/red_high_heelse .....Country music star Kellie Pickler did her music video to her song, "Red High Heels" on Watertown's field (after the first 30 seconds of the song). Give the link a couple minutes and it will load. Hopefully she'll make a guest appearence and come back prancing around out there, again..but, I'm thinking she could cause just a little distraction amongst all of us! haha
  10. THEY (the team, all of them) just played better, like they are capable. The boys did a great job, on both sides of the ball. Offensively, if you really want to know, the play calling wasn't much different than it has been since the 1st game, a couple new wrinkles were added and they paid dividends, but the main plays that Mercer has been running all year were also executed much better. It's a domino effect if you will, the O-line plays better, it makes the RB's look better..the RB's block and run better, it makes the O-line look better. Trevor Short (QB) looked great, rushing for almost 200 yards, as did Jordan Yeast, Nathan Griffith and Norris Yeast. Defensively, the samething goes for the LB's, DL and Secondary....when all positions of the game are clicking and executing better, it makes everyone around look like they are playing better! Great job to all!!!
  11. Coach Anderson is a great guy and a great coach, he'll have Southwestern back on track and in the mix of things, for sure. It looks like SW and Mercer are going to be dancing a few more times over the next couple years, both are very inexperienced still and this years versions of both teams will practically be the same for next year, as well. Best of luck Southwestern! Go Titans!!!!:thumb:
  12. No, they don't. Speedy(fastest player on the team) sophomore Russell Mays (5'7 160) broke his ankle back in the preseaon, might possibly be back in three weeks or so.
  13. Im not going to get into how many points any team should have in a ranking..I never have gotten into those rankings or any for that matter. You know that you have a very good team and a very explosive offense. I wouldn't worry about what a form of toilet tissue says about your Maroons so-called, 'ranking'. Best of luck to you all the rest of the season, here is hoping that we meet again (Mercer)...I'm sure IF it was to happen, it'll be another great one! Good luck this week!:thumb:
  14. My bad...TYPO!!! I meant, a HOLE that you fall in and not a WHOLE piece of pizza.:jump:
  15. I think both teams have had injuries. Who is likely to miss this game?
  16. Those rankings and most are good for nothing than helping assist oneself in the restroom. Other than maybe claiming the top 5 teams in their rankings, I don't think they hold much, if any value. Pulaski has a very good team, especially on the offensive side, no one needs to sell themselves short on that belief or play that fact down in ANY WAY!! That trio of their QB (#12), RB (#2) and WR (#80) could play and star for MANY TEAMS across the state, any class.....good sized, athletic and most importantly, THEY can FLY!! Best of luck to you all the rest of the year...hopefully we'll see you again in a couple months (Mercer County).:thumb:
  17. The USS Danville with Drop Anchor in the Pizza Box, headed by the Admiral himself, Sam Harp. Here's the sad part for all of you others, of those 22 starters, Danville will have 17 of them back next year....some of you may go find a whole and crawl in it now. :jump: :thumb: j/k Best of luck to all!!
  18. I'm with you 100%!! I firmly believe exactly what you just said in the last part! This district, although Im with someone else on here that Lincoln has probably wrapped it up, seems to be as balanced/competitive as any in the state. That's exactly how it is in the regular season, and I'm almost, but certain that's how it will be in the playoffs....so, I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch, because it looks like all of us are going to have a couple go 'rounds with these dance partners!:thumb: A play here or a play there goes different ways and Mercer is sitting at 4-0, and everybody (fans and doubters statewide) are talking about what a great team this is and how they aren't missing a stride in their new 5A.
  19. Bottom line is this. Mercer has had three games come down to the wire against 3 very good teams, Mercer pulled one of those out and Mercer is 2 plays and 6 points from being 4-0, instead of 2-2 (actually more, but I know how some of you "fans" like to point fingers at particular individuals, so that's why I'm saying 2 plays...so that some of you can relate). If the other last minute or so of the past two games, everybody who is being negative is singing praises. Personally, I don't get it. Truth be told, I don't ever want to understand it. These boys are going to be fine.:thumb:
  20. The MAN is back!! I had a feeling talking with you the other day that you were about to put something on here!!! I love it!:thumb: :jump:
  21. Good call. You have to remember though, Usedup, on here, with some it's a double standard and there is always some excuse for why Mercer won they won against smaller schools, equal sized and even those schools that were bigger. :jump: For example, South Laurel (bigger), but there was the fact thrown out by some that they weren't good competition last year. Then you have Boyle County(within 100 students of Mercer) that Mercer beat, but they went 6-6 and lost 5 of their games to teams that finished a combined 47-3 in the regular seaon, people seem to forget that. They also beat LaRue County (within 100 of Mercer and current 4A), who had only one loss toa VERY SPEEDY Louisville Western (new 4A) prior to their game w/ Mercer. Beating all 3 by a combined 146-33, while rushing for over 1,200 yards in those 3 games, too. I told myself I wasnt going to revert to last year anymore, my fault!! I couldnt resist!:jump:
  22. Says who?? I don't believe there is a line in a coaching contract stating that "If you agree to this job, you will be subjected and you should accept all public criticism and speculation of your job amongst people that have no idea what is going on in your program." If so, I missed that one myself. I know what you're saying though, it's an unspoken truth that, for whatever reason, happens. Personally, it makes my stomach turn and Im not even a Rebel, nor have I been. A Chris Pardue supporter and one that I personally feel is a great man and great coach from what I know of him, yes, yes I am.
  23. I dont think this is the proper place to discuss this, especially since it is all speculative. His players get on here and read posts, and they most certainly do not need to read this stuff in the mix of the tough times they are having at Boyle. This is completely subjective and it has NO PLACE... More importantly, Chris Pardue has a family, and they don't need their husband/fathers future. Most of the people on here aren't coaches, nobody publicly talks about your job security on a public site for the entire world to see, do they?!:madman:
  24. Correct, their entire backfield (QB included) with the exception of Nathan Griffith, along with both TE's who played fullback last year. They also lost their entire secondary, their starting nose tackle, two other DE's and their leading tackler at ILB. For whatever reasons, some seem to forget that. So, all things considered, this bunch has done fine and they are going to continue to get better and better. They're going to win, and you know what, they might just possibly lose another game or so. Either way, they're a great bunch, a talented group, a bunch that I believe might have recieved exactly what they needed to refocus for the remainder of the year. Like all of us have had in our years playing, growing up, in our jobs, etc...sometimes when you think you might be a little higher up on a mountain than you actually are, you need a swift kick to the butt to keep you in check. I think that's exactly what happened, and IMHO, I don't exactly know if it was a bad thing, all in all. I think there might just be a "hunger" back.:thumb:
