  1. I can't argue the leadership issue with you because I do not know enough about JH....but X develops leadership every year..it is one of the priorities in X football. Family and tradition are too. Example...Star X RB Vic Anderson has been on the sideline of almost all of X freshman games. He is there as a role model, a cheerleader, and....a leader. Vic is just a junior. X players understand that football is about the team..not the player...that is why X players do not put their names on the back of their jerseys...They have the motto...Band of Brothers..
  2. The stats I posted were merely to show that X and JH play alike. They both have good defenses and like to run the ball. here's what the stats do not consider...because stats do lie. 1. Competition...X has played 6 of the 8 top ranked team in the state according to the CJ LIT ratings. JH has played 1...Male 2. 2nd & 3rd strings Defense...In the T game T scored 1 TD on X's 2nd string and 1 TD on X's 3rd string...with their starters. Manual did the same thing in the last playoff game..2 Tds against the subs. ( not a knock but sometimes there are reasons...Manual..last game for good group of seniors...T...getting time for young QB) I do not know about JH in this 3. 1st string Offense...Did the teams call off the dogs in blowouts? 4. Injuries...Did one of these teams have significant injuries that changed their game plan? X struggled against Manual without 3 starters in round 1. 5. Match-ups ...Will one team have a better match-up regardless of the stats? Size, speed etc.
  3. The argument has been that private schools can get more athletes because of recruiting, endless boundries, and specifically for X and T..sheer number of boys to choose from. If that was the case, wouldn't they dominate basketball because instead of having one or two good players, they would have a whole team? I agree with you a little on this...just a little. Football is number intensive, and baseball too. But my same point still exists...Why aren't X and T dominating baseball then? And I totally agree with your point on golf and tennis. I believe powerhouses are built on tradition. X and T have football traditions. The students and coaches understand that and want it to continue. How else can you explain 38,500 going to a regular season football game? Butler, PRP, Male have baseball traditions. Fairdale, Male were the dominate teams in basketball when I was in school. Size, boundries, and every other excuse you can think of did not stop the above public schools from dominating their sport. Those same excuses did not create the dominance of X and T in football....Its tradition
  4. What is the breakdown in last year's basketball tournament?? Are the stats lopsided in that sport as well...if not...WHY??? The same perceveived disadvantages apply to all sports ....right????
  5. I didn't mean to suggest that only X had this passion. I have many friends that went to Trinity and share that same passion for their school. I also knew girls from the different girls schools with that passion. I think that passion explains a lot of the heated posts. .... Male and Manual supporters show passion as well. And I am curious as to the previous post about funding efforts being channelled elsewhere...And so I don't draw fire here....these are the schools that I am most familiar with...
  6. Elite 8 with 37 sophs is very impressive! What will the next 2 years bring? The future is very bright in Boone County.
  7. Project X is the program that St.X is running that has been referred to in these posts as having athletics as its only goal. The money raised for Project X is being used to give our teachers raises, replenish student aid, buy classroom upgrades, create a true entrance to the campus, update buildings and lockers, and update athletic fields. The school has a video on their website that outlines all these goals. The video also demonstrates what Rockmom has stated about passion for their school, and the ability to raise funds.
  8. Both these teams have very balanced attacks..pass and run..however Henry Clay has the top ranked Offense in both points scored per game and yards per game compared to the other 7 teams left in 4A...However they also have the worst defense of the 8 teams left esp. pass defense. If Dunbar goes to a pass heavy offense and then goes into keep away with the lead they could win. HC is averaging almost 2 more TDs a game. If they get on top early.... it's over! Neither defense is impressive...I'll go with HC by 14
  9. After checking some stats (in another thread) These 2 teams are a lot alike: Avg points scored...X 37.5 per game ....JH 37.7 per game Avg Points allowed....X 12.58 per game......JH 14.3 per game Rush yds per game.....X 251.7 per game.......JH 282.8 per game Rush yds allowed .....X 98.5 per game........JH 102 per game Pass yds per game....X 92.1 per game......JH 97.1 per game Pass yds allowed X 125 per game.........JH 83 per game Total Offense...........X 343.9 per game.....JH 380 per game Total Defense...........X 223.6 per game....JH 185.3 per game All the above stats except the points scored and allowed do not include both these team's last playoff game. JH's defense stats will go down after the Male shootout. These 2 teams play alike...they both love to run and play good solid D. X has the advantage of playing most of the top ranked teams in the state. They have had a very tough schedule, remained undefeated, and boast the top ranked run defense and scoring defense. JH has a very solid defense as well...but they did let Male run free. They did win the game though. It will come down to the line...like most games...How big are the JH lineman? Can they match up against the man mountains on X's O-line?
  10. Everyone has played 12 games...so look at the last # and you can tell what games haven't been added in yet.
  11. The stats for John Hardin did not include the Male game....Maybe those updated stats will be posted sometime this week. Then again, Henry Clay has not sent in any stats since the playoffs started....The only stats that are 100% up to date are the points scored and allowed.
  12. 3 of her brothers play and she did it on a dare...then has stuck with it for 2 years now
  13. I just posted this years stats in another thread....After doing these...Trinity looks to be even a bigger favorite to win than I originally thought. Boone is last is average points scored among the 8 teams left with 26 pergame. Trinity is 2nd with 42.3...big difference!!! Boone is ranked 5th in points allowed per game with 19.8 Trinity is not far away with 14.7 (ranked 3rd) The problem with this is that Trinity's stats are against some top quality teams. They have played top ranked X, highly ranked Manual, and Tenn powerhouse Montgomery Bell. More disturbing is that Boone has the 7th out of 8th ranked pass defense which is going to have to stop Trinity's #2 ranked pass offense. Tall order! Boone does have one heck of a run attack ranked 2nd...going against T's 5th ranked run D. Boone will have to score quick and then play keep away to have any shot....not to mention stepping up their lacking pass D against a very potent T air attack. If T gets up early Boone will have to find a way to improve their 8th ranked 51 yards per game passing attack to keep up. Another tall order against a 3rd ranked pass D. Odds are clearly stacked against Boone....But that's why we play the game!!!
  14. There are already girls playing...Evangel Christian has a girl playing...she even plays some line.
  15. sorry about the crowding...I didn't write it that way... First # is Yards passing (offense or defense) per game Second # is the rank among the elite 8 in passing third # is run yards per game (offense or defense) 4 # is the rank among elite 8 in the run 5 # is total yards per game (they are listed in rank order) 6# is how many games were reported to KHSAA (stat wise)

  18. pretty cool...you're not that guy on TV that solves murders by the numbers are you? Wanna go to Vegas????
  19. Trinity wins this one...points to be determined by 1st quarter action....If Trinity gets on top early..Boone will have to pass...and then gets blown out....Boone will have to get up on Trinity by 14 in the first Q to have a chance...and a slim one at that. Win the toss and then score on a turnover. Then play keep away. I just don't see a disiplined team like T letting that happen. I had much of the same opinions on the Male/JH game and was wrong....of course T doesn't have an ineffective defensive strategy.
  20. I really thought that Male would have won this game by a large margin.....I was pulling for JH just because I didn't want to face Male again....It is always harder to beat a team twice....but now I don't know what to think...I have to agree with 02Ram, the X defense is good and by scoring that many points on Male....Hopefully X will come into this game with nothing but respect for JH.....maybe a prediction later....my Male prediction bit me in the butt.....I don't want that to happen again esp. to X
  21. good job rocks.....KJ is good but its takes more than one to beat a good team....Hope to see ya in December...waiting to see who we have next week...John Hardin is trying to hold on
  22. I watching too....I want at least 60 in that one....you don't jump on our logo and get away with it....but I'll take the rest of my comments on this to the right forum
  23. They are Ram...they all geaduated from X....... Sass was the QB
