  1. Are we forgetting about LCC and PCC? Both teams are very loaded and well coached. Neutral site for the top 4, Hazard,PCC,LCC and KCC. Anything could happen.
  2. AAU programs are the recruiting tools used. To not believe that is naive and quite foolish.
  3. Who cares! They should just let kids play where they want and transfer when they want. This way every school is on the same playing field. Instead of letting KHSAA continue to embarass themselves. Just let them play where they wish.
  4. I agree that 2 is a toss up. However, the 2 still watches from the stands with me. Hazards to lose.
  5. What a talent and an ambassador. He not only was a solid coach but his legacy is some of the great coaches he touched and nurtured over the years. If you look at every prodigy of his the list would amaze you. Prayers with the Woods family and a sad day for Kentucky basketball.
  6. When was the last good solid decision made by the KHSAA or more commonly referred to as the Queen and her court of jesters?
  7. Jackson, Faulkner and Whitaker all are oustanding. I also like the kid from LCC. Is it Blair? He's a little small but outstanding at the point.
  8. Hazard LCC/PCC Toss up KCC/Lee Toss up The rest of the 14th is capable of upsetting any one of the above on any given night but the stars would have to align perfectly for the champion not to be from this five. I'll take Hazard and PCC and give the field. LCC will have a long way to travel this year with the region in Powell Co.
  9. Blair and Banks LCC Charles Lee Noble PCC Cackiling Estill Cox and Stamper KCC The entire starting lineup at Hazard.
  10. Lee will shake the 14th up this year a little bit if the kids that have moved there can help at all. Charles is as good as any kid in the 14th, Pelfrey is big, and DJW will work hard at getting them prepared.
  11. 3 kids who play on the same AAU team, coached by someone very close to the Scott Co. staff, and they all transfer in the same year to the same school. How can a logical person not think that the moves were about basketball???? One needed employment, one needed closer to his employment, and one just needed help!!!!! Smells like a duck, walks like duck, sounds like a duck...... PROBABLY A DUCK!!!!
  12. I guess you didn't read Mr. Eutons comments that clearly said it was for athletic purposes which is against the policies of the KHSAA. But then again on that day while wearing a blue shirt, standing on one leg in the Toyota parking lot and reading a Shakespeare novel it was OK. They should have told all the other kids that have been ruled ineligible that this was the process?????? I know of three young athletes, 2 boys and 1 girl that had similiar situations that lost a year of playing time in our region alone. If we are going to stand on the rules and rules alone then Flannery and Jackson are eligible but based on public comments made by the other family he should be ineligible.
  13. Coach Combs could put on clinics on how to take care of your facilities. He has done a wonderful job regardless of where he has been and the hand that has been dealt him. KUDOS and great picture.
  14. This ruling may not be arbitrary in your opinion. I was referring to the several other rulings statewide over the past 5 years where a family didn't have the resources or capacity to fight the original rulings that had the same circumstances as this case and those kids did not play. As for the arbitray issue, I have to disagree. I think the entire process and rules lead to arbitrary decisions. There has to be consequences with every move we make in our lives and moving from district to district should have the same consequences. I know it is harsh to the minority but the majority is what the rules should protect. I also think had the KHSAA not shown in their past histories that they can be arbitrary in the way they interpret their own rules that this may or may not have been an issue. I still don't think this is an Euton,Jackson, Flannery issue as much as it is a KHSAA issue and their inability to lead and manage themselves. Also, if they did spin the bottle or flip the coin there are several kids in the state that would have at least had a 50/50 chance!!!!
  15. Shame. Shame. Every kid that has been ruled ineligible over the past 10 years due to the abitrary decisions of the KHSAA should have recourse. I am glad for the kids in the decision but the KHSAA is in need of major overhaul. The quicker they restucture and inject some new blood into the organization the better they will be. As a long time supporter of the organization I will spend my resources elsewhere until they can clean house!
  16. I like Hazard in the mix. This could be a year for the small school to surprise everyone with Hazard and Elliott Co. both fielding solid teams.
  17. That is true. He will teach Social Studies at the high school.
  18. He has resigned as basketball coach and taken the principal post at Stanton Elementary in the Powell Co. system. Who knows what the clowns and circus will do for a coach? I am not for coaches being administrators but this should have been an exception this late in the game. School starts in 5 days!
  19. I predict he will coach at Powell this year until they can find a solid replacement. No need to destroy the program by not getting a quality person and that may be tough this late in the year.
  20. Joke! The whole deal is a joke and the KHSAA is as well. Every kid that has had to sit out a year in the past 10 years should sue and I hope they break the hypocrisy that exists at that Association. Joke! Joke! Joke! I hate it for the kids but it has to stop somewhere and can't continue to be random.
  21. It is foolish not to believe some form of recruiting existed from someone in this case (not saying Scott Co. at all). But it is naive to contend that all 3 kids from the same AAU team end up at the same high school at the same time and it was just what was best for the families????? I have no problem with the transfer rules and however KHSAA wants to make them but my problem has always been with the enforcement of them. They do not always apply to individuals the same way. How many kids have had to sit a year for legit transfers because of the SS's ruling. I will bet the number is huge. I can think of 4 within 40 miles of my locale. All I am saying is use some common sense, adhere to the rules after investigation and stick to them firmly. If the KHSAA does that then all 3 are ineligible! If it walks, talks and smells like a duck then it is most likely a duck.
  22. Justice has to be in there. If Elliott and Lawrence are not in the mountains we don't have mountains in Kentucky!
