  1. what is wrong with playing some juniors that has never had any experience that are going to have to play a lot of varsity this coming season?...I think that is a pretty good idea...These kids have to get some playing time at the high school level or will come in as seniors and be totally clueless...I see nothing wrong with that
  2. Does anyone know when we are getting rid of Tubby?
  3. This would be the best thing that East Ridge could do...If Thack was to come back I think he would do an excellent job...I would love to see him come back and not only take over the basketball job but the baseball job as well....One thing about Coach Thacker is that when he says something you do it or you won't play at all...These kids need a lot of disipline and he is the man to do that...He is one of the best coaches I have ever seen....He won 4 district baseball titles in a row with a bunch of guys that wasnt very talented...but like I said his players do what he says....Hopefully we will see Thack pacing the sidlines and the baselines at ER this season :thumb:
  4. I have heard this too...I really think that this will be the guy that will take over....I have heard that they really like this guy and all they have to do to get him is find an opening for a socail studies position...I just wanna wish Coach May the best of luck at Pikeville...COngrats to Pikeville because you couldnt have got a better guy...I dont know about everyone else but I will definately miss seeing Coach May in the ER blue
  5. I have heard that this wasn't the Matewan of old...They still looked really good to me though...I also heard that they lost their best running back because of a broken hand...This game shouldn't have even been close...Matewan should have won by 2 or 3 touchdowns at least...Does anyone know the lil running backs offical numbers?....I know at half time he had 170 some yards....Congrats to Matewan and the young man that had an excellent game
  6. Well that one will last a whole 5 innings hahaha....Congrats to ER...Just wouldnt be right if they lost to Valley in the first round...ER mercied them the first two years the school was around...Cant believe the level of talent on both of these teams...7 and 8 wins for these two teams isnt normal...the talent level has sunk drasticly
  7. What is going on with East Ridge this year? They are usually pretty good...How many games will they possibly win this year? I looked at the schedule and there is only like 3 or 4 that they should have no problem winning.
  8. Was this one over in 5? Who pitched for the Warriors?
  9. The first thought that comes to mind is Elkhorn City. They always had a good baseball team. They competed year in and year out. Pretty sure that they won 4 districts in a row and a regional in the late 90's. Virigie and John's Creek were both pretty good programs before they were consolidated.
  10. One positive that I noticed was that most of their kids are in junior high...I would just about bet that they had more junior high kids than high school...One negative that I noticed was that they had kids playing that had never even played high school baseball before...Hopefully Larry can get the pitchers on the right track and maybe that will help get them through this season...Hope they can get it going soon.
  11. Final. What is the deal with this? I think this is the first time ER has ever lost to Phelps...The talent level in all sports up there must have went way down in the last couple of years.
  12. The best game I ever saw was either the 92 or 93 All A Classic when Heff Conley of Elkhorn City scored 52 and Jeremy Hall of Allen Central scored 47. It was a shootout between these two. Hall had somewhere around 12 threes.
  13. Congrats to the Warriors! This is a great win for them...Belfry will be alright because they have a great coach...I am sure that Coach Casey will take care of the problems they had with some of the players tonight because he is a great guy and won't put up with that....I like to watch this match-up because it's two old buddies with similar coaching styles going at it...Again nice job Warriors!
  14. I think that the Warriors fouled the whole game according to the officals. It was like 13 fouls to 3 and then at the end when the game was over they started to even them out. Im not blaming this one on the officals because Pikeville played a great game and played with more intesnsity than I have ever saw from them but the officals sure didn't help any. I thought that they key in this game was some of the horrible shots that E.R. took. Pikeville didn't really take a lot of bad shots but some of the Warriors' shots were questionable especially when they were in the lead.
  15. The Warriors played great tonight. Like I said before they play better at home and feed off the crowd because they are so young. I think that the key tonight was ER's big man (Mike Rowe) holding Cade Riddle to only 4 points. Big difference from his 34 the last time. The guards did a great job of putting pressure on S.V. too. Bartley gave the Warriors a big spark coming off the bench tonight as well. Nice to see Coach Hurley in the stands tonight too. Congrats to the Warriors and their staff on a great win!
