  1. Hounds drop another one to go 0-2 on the season....disappointing....offense needs some changes....can not run a 1972 offense and need to get studs...French and Campbell involved.....South Laurel comes to town next week...Cards have beat the Hounds the last two seasons...could it be a three peat? :scared:
  2. 34 - 20 with only a few seconds left....Oldham will defeat the Hounds in the Pigskin Classic....not a good start for the Hounds....two years in a row...Jewell may be on the hotseat...South Laurel comes to town next week
  3. 27 -20 Oldham with 6 minutes left in the game....
  4. With that being said.....I would think that Coach Herron will up the schedule once he has full control....KC game was a step in the right direction. With an extra game due to a change in district it will be interesting to see who is added next year for the non district schedule...
  5. Oldham 27 Corbin 13......with 2:05 in the third
  6. Corbin Scores....Oldham 19 Corbin 13
  7. Oldham 19 Corbin 7.....Hounds maybe in trouble tonight
  8. Corbin trails 12-7 at the half
  9. Corbin 7, Oldham 6; 5:10 left in the first half
  10. Corbin 7 Oldham 0 at the end of the first.
  11. Guess that is my point, when you are in a competitive cycle try to schedule according...A win is a win. I do admire the job Coach Black has done at all stops. His team at Whitley may indeed start the season 0-3 but playing teams like Shelby, Bell and North Hardin will help the Colonels in the long run. I would just like to see Williamsburg play teams like Knox Central, Corbin, Middlesboro for example when they are capable of beating those teams. When they are in a down cycle then adjust the schedule some and play teams of a similar talent.
  12. With only 5 district games next year, you can still keep Jellirock and pick up a formidable opponent like Corbin. I remember days when Bob Rose was up there that those other games included schools like Beechwood, Woodford County, Paris, Matewan, Greenback, etc... Those weren't weak sisters by any means, and there were at least 3 of those games a year. It wasn't stacked with just Jellico's, Thomas Walkers, McCreary Central, etc. No offense, but if they want to rise back to the prominence the program had at that time, maybe a retrospective look at playing ranked teams would be worthwhile. How much respect did Harlan gain by beating Hazard and Cawood the past two weeks? Much more than if they had played other teams. Heck, even a close loss to a respected team earns more merit than a huge win over someone that everyone should beat. As for playing young players, that's what JV and Freshman programs are for. From what I understand, Jellico is fielding a JV team this year with only 3 or so returning players (according to your announcer). Hey, I'm on your side and all about giving kids credit and confidence, but you can't stack your schedule with guaranteed wins and still expect to go to the playoffs. So take the win for what it is worth. After the past two weeks, I guess it did seem like a major accomplishment to win tonight.
  13. We will see if Williamsburg got better from this win when it comes to playoff time. Unfortunately, even if Jellico is bigger, it is in Tennessee. Williamsburg has to beat the teams in Kentucky, larger or smaller.
  14. Of course, you could always go like the basketball team and get your only wins of the season down south vs Jellico......I expect this to change this season with some new direction for the roundballers...please to do not let the football team sink that low.
  15. Did the Jackets get any better from this win? Answer truthfully? They can schedule some game in the Knoxville area if they want, I know this is the truth, but why play someone who can not compete? Go get Farragut or Knoxville Cath....or Corbin...that will show what the Jackets have...
  16. Rock is now averaging 38 points a game and giving up 0 .....so they are back on track..:thumb:
  17. I agree. I think they need to go ahead and play Corbin. They did defeat the Hounds the last time they played, so why not give the Hounds a chance to redeem themselves? I'm sure it's a financial thing for Williamsburg, but the Corbin/Wburg game would be more interesting and draw more outside crowd. You would think Jellico would discontinue this series, but then again I heard they have been charging Williamsburg fans $10 a piece when they host. Is the price of victory worth the cost? Pun intended....
  18. Frazier throws another TD....Jackets 42 - Jellico 0 9:45 left in the second....
  19. Jackets score again...35 - 0 with a few seconds left in the first quarter....no mercy so far.
  20. Jellico turns it over again...Jackets marching towards the endzone.
  21. Jackets turn it over to the Blue Devils on the Jellico 29 yard line...let's hope for a running clock by the third quarter..
  22. Jellico fumbles the football on the kickoff...Alex Patrick recovers on the Jellico forty....they might score 100 unless they call off the dogs.
  23. Frazier tosses another TD to Hamblin......Jackets lead 28- 0....Woods has really helped the special teams....where was he last week? A few extra points against KC and the Jackets win.......5 minutes left in the first quarter...if you can believe this one.
  24. Another interception for the Jackets.....this Jellico team is really struggling...Coach Herron will get his first career win. I would expect the JV to play the most of the game.
