Mason County 65 Pendleton County 60 (OT)
Good one in Falmouth tonight between two evenly matched teams that entered at 3-0. Pendleton had a strong first half, taking a 30-21 lead into the break. The 3rd quarter was all Mason County, as the Lady Royals scored 15 unanswered. Pendleton fought back and ultimately forced Overtime when Lilly Ashcraft banked in a nice runner at the horn. Mason County was the better club in the extra frame, though, and came away with the 5-point win. Four Lady Royals were in double figures, led by junior Alexis Young's 19. Young also reached 500 rebounds for her career. Olivia Hughes had 15 points, including 3 triples. Amirah Reed was clutch down the stretch and tallied 13 points. Carlee Buttery added 12, with 9 of those points coming in the 4th quarter & OT. Lilly Ashcraft led all scorers with 23 points. The junior was 11-12 from the charity stripe and joined the 1,000 point club. Her backcourt mate, senior Madison Verst had 15 points. Fellow senior Kearstin Mayer had 13 points. Pendleton is back in action at home against Augusta on Wednesday. Mason County entertains Western Brown on Friday.

2024-25 College Football Playoffs
I just haven't been impressed with many teams. I watched a lot early on, but just lost interest as the season progressed. It's been kind of the same thing with college basketball.

CW's 10th Region Girls Basketball Rankings 12/8/24
Everyone here is playing for second place. That said...I think the teams you have 2-5 are all very close to one another. How they're ordered can fluctuate. Same for the 6-10 group. It's still really early, though, so I could be wrong. Pretty good rankings from my vantage point.

2024-25 College Football Playoffs
It's been the opposite for me. I don't think any of these teams are impressive. But I readily admit that I haven't been as tuned into CFB as a whole. I will say that the newness of this playoff is something that will keep my attention for the postseason, so they are accomplishing something there.

Kentucky 90 Gonzaga 89 (OT)
Butler was out with an ankle injury. Kriisa went out with a calf injury, it appeared. Looked like cramping, but I don't know.

Kentucky 90 Gonzaga 89 (OT)
Talk about a tale of two halves. Intensity in the second half was much better. Only shot 9 triples in second half & OT. Still just 7-26 for the game. Very good win away from home, especially after that atrocious first half.

Kentucky vs. Gonzaga Predictions/Updates
I thought Brea had a clean block there. Regardless, the offense looks more like offense this half. Gotta keep the Zags off the glass though.

Kentucky vs. Gonzaga Predictions/Updates
22-82 (26.8%) from 3 in the last 3 games. 5-17 (29.4%) in the first half tonight.

The kings of Kentucky High School Football. They just blew that game open. Heck of a season for Ryle. No shame in finishing second to the Rocks.
