  1. I have watched them play about 12 games this year. I have also seen SL play once. I will agree that SL should win and probably will, but your post seemed a little overboard. Graves will play tough defense from tip-off until the final buzzer. They will also control the ball on offense, so I just don't think they will be blown out. If they do get blown out then I will give SL all the credit they deserve.
  2. Wow, you are not giving Graves much credit at all. I know SL is good, but to say "the beating of all beatings" is over the top. Graves will most likely lose, but they will NOT get blown out even if they get down some early.
  3. He could play anywhere for just one year. Can't he? Also, he committed early, so there must be some connection to Charlotte. I saw him play in the Hoopfest at Marshall County, KY this year. He is an unbelievable athlete, but his attitude is horrible. He couldn't keep his mouth shut the whole game. He mouthed at the refs, he mouthed at the other team, he mouthed at his own teammates, he mouthed at the fans, he was still mouthing as he walked off the court after the game. He seemed like a "prima donna" to me. Oh well, he is a kid and maybe that was just an isolated incident, but I doubt it.
  4. Everyone knows this kid is great, but I am not sure is as good as Lebron was. The media wants him to be "the next Lebron" because they thrive on the hype and they need a "media darling". This helps sell papers and magazines. Don't get me wrong though, I think the kid is special. Whoever said that he shouldn't go to a smaller University due to lack of exposure is crazy. I personally think he and Walker could play at Siberia Vocational College and the media would follow them. The media is loving this whole "mid-major" thing right now anyway. As a UK fan, I would love to seem him in Lexington, but there is NO WAY he will play for Tubby. I guess he will follow Huggy-Bear. That would ensure that he gets to play exactly how he wants to. His second option is most likely at Cinci since it is close to home. Third option would probably be Louisville. It is close to Cinci and Pitino has the big reputation (although this year may set him back some).
  5. Region one is wide open this year. Even though there have been some surprise winners in the past, there are usually 1-2 favorites, however, there are about 4-5 real contenders this year. If I had to bet, I would say Marshall.
  6. the 1st region tourney is at Murray State University every year.
  7. That reminds me of that prostate commercial on t.v. The guy says, "my doctor told me that I don't have a going problem, I have a growing problem." His prostate was enlarged. LOL.
  8. Ok, so it actually was like a "Hack a Shaq" situation. That is the only way I can see it being smart to purposely foul. Great effort cards! I still think about when I played for Mayfield in the first ever All A Classic State Tourney (in Memorial Coloseum) and it was awesome. I am glad these players got a chance to experience it.
  9. I see what you are saying now. I didn't get to listen to the game so I didn't know that they shot that bad from the line early in the game. I guess you are saying that Mayfield could use the "Hack a Shaq" philosophy since they were missing so many FT's. I still can't imagine doing that, but oh well.
  10. Of course you have to foul at the end if you are behind, but I am assuming that most of the fouls were earlier in the game. Maybe not since there was 2OT's. Oh well, great game and congrats to the cards.
  11. Uhhhhhh, 50 FT's to 17 FT's; wow!!!! I know that Mayfield was forced to foul some, but that is a big difference.
  12. I am glad to see someone else say that because I feel the same way. He would not be progressing this quickly or this well under Tubby.
  13. We were warming up for a game against Fulton City in '90 and one of their players tried to dunk it and broke our backboard. The game had to be rescheduled for the next week.
  14. Mayfield High School: Joe Ford (High School All-American and standout at Vandy) He graduated from MHS in the early '70's.
  15. If that is the worst thing that those kids do then I think everyone is doing great up there in NKY.
  16. Sounds like the refs want some airtime tonight as well.
  17. What a game. I can barely talk from all the screaming I did. Bardstown was as fast as advertised, but Mayfield played classic Mayfield smash-mouth football and controlled the line throughout. Thank goodness for that holding call that brought back the long td run late in the game. You could almost sense that big play coming from B-town after they stopped us on that 4th down play. Thanks again ref! I don't know if we should have gone for a field-goal there or not, but fortunately it all worked out in the end. I would like to apologize to the B-town fans for some of the craziness coming from the end-zone crowd, but there was alot of trash-talking coming from a few of your fans before the game and after your first score. Some of our fans were just jumping at the chance to get back at them, and they did quite loudly. Anyway, we are going to state again baby!!!!!!!!!
  18. If you go back and see where I originally quoted the guy, it said NKY owned 1A. I thought he meant 1A overall, not just semi-state. If that is what he meant then I apologize. If he meant 1A overall, then it was ignorant. Oviously you didn't read my posts closely or you would have known that I WAS talking about 1A overall.
