Other than all this, I hear we have a winter storm brewing and this could be the big one...
Hearing it could hit us on Monday or Tuesday

Clarified in the other thread but I thought it was clear I only meant it in a positive way. Clevenger would be an awesome hire there.
I understand and thx for reply.

I mean I hope he does well and makes the Danville decisionmakers regret the decision. Judging by Facebook, the local community isn't happy with this firing at all.
Thx and I am now clear with your answer.
Good luck to Danville on finding a new coach.

I post in a lot of threads that aren’t worth the time to read, so not really sure what your point is.
No complaining Deuce, that’s my point.
Wow!!! You are becoming a Highlands fan😭

So based on the Danville news does Clay Clevenger suddenly become a top tier candidate for this job?
“This is total bologna. That's about all I have to say about it now, other than I thank Clevenger for his years of service and getting the team back in the title hunt. I hope he gets theHighlands job and wrecks it.”
Still asking the question, what do you mean by this statement @DanvilleFan

So @DanvilleFan you mean “wrecks it” as in “kills it” in a good way or “shows Danville” or you are hoping Clevenger gets “the Highlands job and wrecks it” as in to hurt Highlands and it’s kids really bad?
Need some clarification and how you really feel about all this...

That would require quality content...
Well you posted probably 50 times in just this Highlands thread so which is it?
Heck, we accept you as one of our own at Highlands...

Hey ChiefSmoke do you know if he applied for the Highlands job?
Nope, Homer Rice beat him out for that position back in 1954.

Totally agree, I am all in whenever it happens and I hope all the groups you mentioned will be as well.
I do think my Sparky reference makes sense though in the fact that my prediction still stands that the person they pick will probably be someone that the average NKY High School fan probably has never heard about before. Just my prediction....

You don't have to worry too much about the boys motivation. There are a few personal trainers in the area for whom this has been a gold rush. I'd much prefer them to all be together putting in work that way, but there's a ton of em that are putting in the work however they can get it.
Well this should be comforting to know for Mr Big. I suspected the kids would be putting a ton of time in this and work on their own. Good for them. Beat Colonels!!!

Question for @ChiefSmoke
How many assistants does a HC really need to run a football program?
Talking realistically here, my guess is 3.
-

I don’t really care about who may or may not be an assistant. Let’s nail down an HC, build from there and get these kids into the field house that the football program built, so they can start working out.
Can’t they do this on their own or with an art teacher or someone else as a supervisor?. If the kids have to be motivated to work hard by a coach and can’t do this on their own then imo a high dollar head coach isn’t going to change anything.

If thats true about the freshman coaches then thats a shame. I watched several of their games over the past 4 years and they appeared to do a really good job.
Weinrich to Beechwood
Behymer to Newport
Umberg to Newport
Dill to ??????
Turner still at Highlands
Deaton still at Highlands
Leopold to ???????
Hall to retirement?
Turner would be a solid hire for any school.
Dill certainly has experience
Hall retiring hurts as he is a very good coach with experience on both sides of the ball.
Downing does a nice job at the Frosh level. Maybe Deaton could be a good Frosh HC if Downing doesn’t return.
I would certainly try and retain the first 3 for sure out of those remaining.

Thought Beyhem
Behymer went to Newport. I believe another came with him.
I stand corrected on that, thx. What coach joined him at Newport?
-
Can anyone shed any light on where if anywhere all of the other former Highlands coaches have landed?
Beyhemer to Scott as DC
BW to BW as DC, 😁
Downing only coach retained as Frosh HC all others fired.
What about others? There are many I believe and some very good gets for schools.

@Jack of all Trades ,You got anything with regards to 2021 schedule?
-
Sorry for the confusion on nicknames.
Agreed 100%, no way Highlands at this point, but certainly the Blueboys.

So... as this drags on can someone refresh and list this years football schedule?
I assumed this was a schedule agreed to by the former HC. Is Highlands looking for any games still?

It would be nice form a fan's standpoint if they could fill one of those open dates with a GCL team or one of the Indianapolis big boys.

How bout the Blueboys, do they need a game?
I say this because when Highlands was on top of their game they were always scheduling way over their heads to get better.
-
Legitimate question for @ChiefSmoke since he has by far the most experience as a head coach that I know of on here.
Outside of the ole cliche “we start next season the next day after our last season ending loss” speech that I hear on tv etc.
For your teams and how you coach, by what date did you really want to start getting down to business by when preparing for the upcoming season?

Can we get 29 more pages of speculation on who it might be? Wolfe? Lickert? Bathiany? Coach of the Year out of FTJFL? Dale out of retirement?
I thought this whole thing was over at page 50 so who knows how long it goes on for. No complaints here, I am just happy that Highlands is taking their time to get this right.
With a bit of editing and a couple more twists this could be a good seller, not a great seller but a good seller in a Ft Thomas bookstore near you.
I just want Highlands to be know as “that team from Ft Thomas” again...

Couple guys that haven’t received much or any attention in this thread that were Highlands guys that coached at other schools that I thought could someday come back to Ft Thomas to coach their alma matter
Kevin Siple - Like 10 time Coach of Year in Ohio, loves his Birds
Tom Spritzky - been outta of it for sometime now but could manage a game clock with the best of em
Anyone have confirmation on whether either applied?
@franknicodemus @9068 @barrel has all been an interesting wealth of information that only very close to the situation room would know
