Grant County opening has been filled

Not that this back and forth isn't entertaining, but when will we hear something about this job? -
Newcomers to look for next year

I'm sure Cordia will have some new faces! Absolute joke what they're getting by with. -

Funny how the teachers who commit to extra duties are usually the ones left behind during budget cuts. We keep tenured teachers who give zero time after 2:30. -
Best position by position NKY
Frmwaydwntwn replied to Sports Fan1230's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Two things: 1) seniors who will be attending NCAA schools cannot play in all-star games against underclassmen. 2) good luck getting players in NKY. You'll have 2nd tier players no one wants to see. -
David McFarland new coach at Ryle

Might be wrong but I think this will be his stepping stone job for when McQueary leaves Boone. -
David McFarland new coach at Ryle

WOW! I don't know about this hire. I really thought Ryle would go with an experienced head coach this time around. Good luck David. -
Shelby Valley job

Which Hicks? Conner or Bellevue? -
Spoke to Grammer Sunday, interesting fact he plays in a men's league on Sunday nights at SOAS on Mt Zion, and I do not believe he is a candidate at this time. Said they haven't been in contact and he's working on things at Seneca still. From what I gather, he thinks Seneca is a top 3 team in 7th next season. I don't think he'd leave even if offered.

Is Erik Goetz the new Beechwood Basketball Coach?
Frmwaydwntwn replied to theguru's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
One might think he's upset because he didn't give the name first. After speaking to people in the know, Goetz is in at Beechwood. -
Apparently interviews have started according to Richard Skinner. Anyone have any idea who they've interviewed? I've talked to a few candidates and they were not even contacted yet.

I think Hemmerich at Conner would fit that SF position. -

Who will be next Highlands Basketball Coach?
Frmwaydwntwn replied to Qryche11's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
So Listerman is the one? -
No one has interviewed for this job. Spoke to McFarland, Bowman, and Blevins and all have said the same thing as Snapp. Prepare for this to be drawn out into May when teacher contracts are finalized. I know they want the right coach that will be in the building do I guess patience can be a good thing.
-
I guess not much interest in this job from outsiders. Is it that Snapp has it wrapped up? Just trying to get some insight.

Heard from a current teacher at Ryle that there will be openings in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. This is pretty much an open door position with all these openings.

Happy Osborne to Kentucky Wesleyan
Frmwaydwntwn replied to D-Rob's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Well, that didn't take long. Montgomery County will be looking for a new coach after coach Osborne accepted the head coach position at Kentucky Wesleyan! -
Mike Flynn Resigns From Highlands
Frmwaydwntwn replied to Clyde's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Once again, lose the "kids like him", "paid his dues" argument. You give the job to whoever best fits with the goals of the school and athletic department. In high school athletics, the fact remains that loyalty is dead. This is true with schools to coaches and kids to schools. I anticipate Listerman getting this one. -
Who will be next Highlands Basketball Coach?
Frmwaydwntwn replied to Qryche11's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I would agree with you that Kevin will be on rod the first interviewed. I also believe he has the inside track to the job. The only thing that would stop this is if he has a poor interview. I can tell you from personal experience, the Listermans can be rough around the edges at times. Kevin gets paid pretty well at Colerain and has a pretty good coaching gig. He could also decide its not the job for him. Now if Kevin does not get the job, look for it to be opened to other candidates, a couple of which are not listed on your list. -
No they have not. Demler told a reporter the committee is still going over applicants.

Is this a definite hire for Ryle?

Great player and great kid. Really felt for him how his Jr and Sr years went. -
Any idea or updates on this job? This is the crown jewel of the open NKY jobs and should be filled by May I would hope.

Frmwaydwntwn replied to Walter's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
After talking to my source in the matter, Walter was indeed correct. Thanks for the info and understand why you can't reveal names. The other candidates had to be informed first. Wa wa, in the words of Ron Burgundy, stay classy.
