Graves Co. 46 South Laurel 45 OT
Boucher replied to Powerhouse Cats's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I understand that, but if you watched the game that I did, SL looked very disoriented while attempting to get off that last shot in regulation. SL had the better talent on the floor, I think calling a set play might have worked out a little better for them. -

I was more puzzled as to why SL didn't call a TO at the end of regulation. They had plenty of them, and killed plenty of clock to take the last shot. -
South Laurel vs. Graves County

Depth? SL plays 7 players. They may have quality depth, but they NEVER use it. I've seen them up 25+ in the 4th, and still have their starters in the game. I think SL wins this game, relatively easily. Hopefully Wright will rest his starters as much as possible, they'll need that rest come Saturday morning. -
Mason County Hosting the Region???
Boucher replied to cshs81's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Every other region in KY has schools that are more "centrally located", but they still rotate the host site, or play at a neutral site. It is simply not fair for one school to have home court advantage every single season. -
Mason County Hosting the Region???
Boucher replied to cshs81's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
That's what I'd like to know. Why is this allowed to happen every year. Is it the voting of several of the small schools that have no chance to make it to Rupp? I've never understood why Mason hosts the regional tournament every year. It appears to be a definate advantage for the Royals. -

North Laurel/South Laurel predictions
Boucher replied to digger3210's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I'd say that the rest of the 13th would have been happier with NL, SL, Corbin, & Clay all in the same district. -
East Jessamine 81 Pulaski Co. 71
Boucher replied to EJHS Fan #98's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
No, isn't the big question who will be Pulaski's coach next year? -
Maybe so, why do you think that is? Pretty good trade in NL & SL for Rockcastle when it comes to attendence, especially since Clay is so close to Laurel County.

I think they've done a pretty good job. The parking situation was handled great (buses), and the concessions are well stocked and manned. The traffic issue is BAD, but I put that on the local law enforcement, not Clay County HS. If the local police would just help the flow, it would be fine, but I've not seen any out in town. People ALWAYS complain about the split sessions, and I'm of the opinion that they're not necessary in the first round games. I've decided to just watch one game, not stick around for 2. There is WAY too much time in between games.

13th Region 1st Round Predictions
Boucher replied to Mastermind's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I couldn't have picked them any better. I see the first round games about the same as 51513. :thumb: -
I can't wait to hear this. Pm on the way.

Now you know how Allen feels. That is EXACTLY what happened.

13th Region Tourney Rankings (03-04-06)

Why do they wait until Sunday afternoon to draw? When do the first round games start? -
North Laurel 69 Red Bird 54
Boucher replied to Jim Schue's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Hats off to Red Bird, and a hard fought game. They obviously came in more ready to play than NL The Jags had no one that could stop Red Bird's Berry from driving to the basket. NL finally woke up, and their depth prevailed, pulling away in the fourth quarter. -
North College Hill 103 Blanchester 30
Boucher replied to cshs81's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Blanchester is a very small city school. Not much of a basketball program, but excellent football & wrestling programs. -

Uh Oh! Look for Rockcastle to be shipped back to the 13th now. -
South Laurel vs Bell County
Boucher replied to Mastermind's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I see SL taking out a little frustration on the Bobcats. SL will ROLL in this one, by 25+. -
What High School did you go to?
Boucher replied to Bird Man's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Clinton Massie HS (OH) - 1981 -
Not that any loss is good, but this one should definately get the focus of SL's team back where it needs to be. SL should win the 13th, but I don't necessarily think it will be as easy as some think it will be for them. I also agree with a previous poster in that Boyle now has to be the favorite to win the 12th.

North Laurel 85 Pulaski County 62
Boucher replied to Les's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I was shocked to see the play of Pulaski's team. There was not much heart or effort that I could see. It was, without a doubt, the poorest showing that I've ever seen by a PC basketball team. It's got to be hard for these boys to have their coach quit on them mid season. With all that's gone on, this season must surely be a low point for PC's basketball program. Good luck to them in finding a coach that will get them back to where they belong.
