Jason Frakes, CJ reporter, blogged at courier-journal.com that the ROCKS won their 1st regional title since 2005 over Ballard 1-0. Gives an inning-by-inning recap and notes the many Bruin runners stranded throughout the game. Jon Rueff threw a 4 hitter for the ROCKS, while Brandon Brian scored the only run of the game in the 2nd inning after leading off with a double, moving to second on a fielder's choice and scoring on an error. I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks to see this announced and posted and it was finally confirmed on the Trinity website today. The Trinity-- St. X game has been rescheduled again to: SATURDAY, October 3, 2009 at 6:00 pm at Papa John Stadium. The reason I was aware of it was because our reunion was originally scheduled for the Friday night date before it was first changed. Make your plans early!! GO ROCKS!!:thumb:

That is the way I was raised and the way Trinity was when I was there and we celebrated our 1st State Football Championship when I was a senior.. 40 long wonderful years ago!!:sssh::ylsuper:

First of all congratulations to all of the participants, including, but not limited to the winners!! Raceland-- awesome job!! On Trinity's website today, it was announced that the Rocks had won the 6-A State Powerlifting Championship at Central Hardin on Saturday. It also said that it was Trinity's eighth straight championship. Individual state champions included: Bobby Conley; Matt Williams;Timmy Phillips,whom it called the best pound-for-pound lifter when he broke his own state record in the flat bench of 355 lbs.; Brendan Kinsella; and Eric Frey, who was the lifter who had the best flat bench lift of 425 lbs.!! (previously mentioned in this thread). Also, Jordan Whiting set a new record in the 250 class with a flat bench lift of 390 lbs. Doesn't sound like a donut eating contest to me!! Also wondering why someone didn't mention this before in this thread.
