Newport vs Newcath

Newport hit a 3 with about 5 seconds to go and beechwood didnt have to throw the ball in. Newport gave this game away. Had leads of 12 and 10 multiple times and just gave it away. Hopefully we can rebound from this loss and beat NCC in the districts.

first round of the districts. Should be an exciting game. Newport won this match up earlier in the year but that doesnt mean anything now. Its win and go on or lose and go home. Hopefully Newport can pull it out again. What are some thoughts and predictions on this game?

Well i can tell you the only game on the schedule left is Tuesday at Newport when they play Beechwood for the 3rd time this year. I think Newport maybe starting to peck a little bit. They have played well the last few games. I know they are working hard in the games and the play has picked up some. They have some good scorers and now the defense is added. It could be interesting. Good Luck CATS!

Will the NCC cheering section be at the first round of the districts when they play rival Newport? Newport beat them already but this game will be tougher.

Newport was definitely the under dog in this one and came out on top. Newport can play with ANYBODY if they come to play! :flame:

They will be playing D2 football. They are independent as of now but they are D2. They are on D2football.com, however the site is not running right now so i couldnt get a link.

CONGRATS to the Muths. Nice kid and good player. Now thats 2 kids that i have heard playing baseball in the GLVC.

I think KWC will be in their 1st year in D2 and that way they are D2 across the board. I know Runion and Atkins are happy with the choice. There were a few schools in WV that were talking to Atkins for both (football & baseball)and a few for just baseball. There were a few schools in the pot for Runion as well, but i think that they picked the right school. New staduim, new to D2 and what a way to start with a good school for a education as well. This is great for Newport High and their coaches. As i said earlier CONGRATS! Two real good kids and good models.

I also understand that a RB from CovCath signed to play there as well

I talked to the parnets today and they are happy. They will be playing D2 in football and in a new stadium at KWC. I also heard that Matt will be playing baseball next year for the Panthers. They have got them 2 fine young men. CONGRATS TO BOTH PLAYERS and good luck at the next level.

Is there a site that shows maybe the plan. I know the one dont show much but there maybe one that has the teams and were they may fall.

Glenn Young is going to be considered a preferred walk-on at WKU. James Glenn and James Thomas arre lookin to basketball in college.

I know that Dan Runion (T) and Matt Atkins (TE) of Newport didnt sign their LOI last week. I know that they were waiting on a few things and from what i hear they will be signing with D2 Kentucky Wesleyan this week. CONGRATS to those fine young men.

They are building a stadium which is supposed to make them a D2 school. This is supposed to be the first year on the D2 level.

With the jump to D-2 and the recruits they sound like they are getting as well as some of the returners they could have a pretty good season next year

I know they are not playing as a team. One player (21) never passes, if he gets it, he shoots it or drives and gets a charge. They dribble the ball way to much (guards) and they are the most selfish team i have ever seen at Newport. All they worry about is the points. They dont pass inside when 32 and 42 are open. They take bad shots and just dont play as a team. I think NCC will win this one by 25. This is my view and i have seen them play a couple games. I hope i am wrong about the Newport "I"CATS.

I when to the game last night and i have to say, Newport is not play well at all. This is a team sport and as long as the I is in there they will have trouble winning. Number 21 last night didnt pass the ball at all, and didnt the last time i seen them play. 32 & 42 inside dont touch the ball at all unless its a rebound. They have a lot of turn overs, and they dribble way to much and dont pass at all, Its like if they pass it they will not get the ball again so they shoot it. I think all the players there worry about is the points they score. If they dont get it together soon, The "I"CATS will have trouble winning games. That is my view of the team. I know it will give the coach grey hair.
