A "scratch" carries through the post season as well...I have seen ref assignments changed due to who wins a particular game in the post season because of "scratches"...Scratch them & you will not have them when it counts...

If you guys have a problem with a particular referee, have your coach "scratch" that ref & you'll never have to deal with him/her again...Each coach can "scratch" 3 refs I believe & those refs cannot be assigned to any game you play within the 16th region...If you make it to a championship game in the district or region tournaments, even if a ref that you scratched rates high enough to get that game, he or she would not be able to call that championship game because you scratched them...It's that simple!!

:thumb: I agree that it shows that he is holding the boys accountable for their actions...Robinson was also held out...These guys are almost adults & will be out in the "real world" next year...You have to learn to make mature decisions and there is always a price to pay when you don't...I'm sure a lesson was learned...

If the teams are voted by the coaches, blame the area coaches not the Independent...I'm not defending them but I know for a fact that if you send requests for voting from coaches to 16 coaches in our area/region, you are usually lucky if you get 8 ballots back... I agree that the paper has traditionally been slanted toward Ashland but I don't feel that is necessarily the case anymore...It appears to me that they have been giving the most ink to the players/teams/students that are setting themselves ahead of the rest of the pack...I cannot complain about the coverage Russell sports, (football in particular) and academics have been getting for the last several years...Generally, if your teams/players are doing well they get the ink...

Good win for the Lady Royals...This Belfry team beat Russell by 7 last Saturday...I'd say this may catapult the Lady Royals back to the top of the heap in the 16th...

I agree...Russell is very capable of playing with Mason...It should not be a surprise if this game is extremely close...It would be an obvious upset if Russell won based on rankings but not out of the question if the Devils play to their capabilities...They do have several good athletes with basketball skill...However, if they don't take care of the ball & play scared Mason could beat them rather soundly...Let's hope that both teams come out "ready to play" and the fans get treated to a game that lives up to it's potential...
