Thanks for the updates on the other thread oldrambler...:thumb: Stuck at work this evening...

I'm at work without access to a radio...Can someone update me on the score??

A "scratch" carries through the post season as well...I have seen ref assignments changed due to who wins a particular game in the post season because of "scratches"...Scratch them & you will not have them when it counts...

If you guys have a problem with a particular referee, have your coach "scratch" that ref & you'll never have to deal with him/her again...Each coach can "scratch" 3 refs I believe & those refs cannot be assigned to any game you play within the 16th region...If you make it to a championship game in the district or region tournaments, even if a ref that you scratched rates high enough to get that game, he or she would not be able to call that championship game because you scratched them...It's that simple!!

:thumb: I agree that it shows that he is holding the boys accountable for their actions...Robinson was also held out...These guys are almost adults & will be out in the "real world" next year...You have to learn to make mature decisions and there is always a price to pay when you don't...I'm sure a lesson was learned...

Maybe it was the Giovanni's buffet scouting report that helped get you over the hump today??:sssh:

If the teams are voted by the coaches, blame the area coaches not the Independent...I'm not defending them but I know for a fact that if you send requests for voting from coaches to 16 coaches in our area/region, you are usually lucky if you get 8 ballots back... I agree that the paper has traditionally been slanted toward Ashland but I don't feel that is necessarily the case anymore...It appears to me that they have been giving the most ink to the players/teams/students that are setting themselves ahead of the rest of the pack...I cannot complain about the coverage Russell sports, (football in particular) and academics have been getting for the last several years...Generally, if your teams/players are doing well they get the ink...

Good win for the Lady Royals...This Belfry team beat Russell by 7 last Saturday...I'd say this may catapult the Lady Royals back to the top of the heap in the 16th...

Never should have gone to OT!!!!

Take over Z man...

Miller scores fouled by Vanhoose...Has 3 fouls

Vanhoose hits another 3...31 -27 Russell Vanhoose w/ 15 Turner hits layup Russell 33 - mason 27

Mason takes lead by 2 ...Vanhoose comes back w/ 3...Russell 28 Mason 27

Start of 2nd half...

Only has 2 fouls

Typo...Check out my score now!!

Russell runs out the clock...Vanhoose drains a 3 w/ 3 secs to go... Halftime Russell 23 Mason 22 Vanhoose with 9 points Gill w/ 8points Miller & Setty (sp) 7 points each for Mason 10 turnovers each team

22-20 Mason w/ 40 secs in 2nd...Turnover Mason

22-18 Mason w/ 2:00 to go in 2nd

19-16 Mason...3 mins to go in 2nd

6 mins to go in the 2nd 15 - 14 Mason

I agree...Russell is very capable of playing with Mason...It should not be a surprise if this game is extremely close...It would be an obvious upset if Russell won based on rankings but not out of the question if the Devils play to their capabilities...They do have several good athletes with basketball skill...However, if they don't take care of the ball & play scared Mason could beat them rather soundly...Let's hope that both teams come out "ready to play" and the fans get treated to a game that lives up to it's potential...

OUCH!!!! Sounds like there was a trip to the woodshed last night...

Not much in it but here you go... http://www.dailyindependent.com/localsports/local_story_357032128.html

I would say that Uncle Billy will not be as kind to the Muskies as he would have been if "little Jimmy" was pacing the opposite sidelines tonight...In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't spank them pretty badly because the Greenup administration spoiled the "family reunion game"... I will say this, it would be a huge shame if he does take out a little "family revenge" on Greenup tonight...The kids on that team are innocent participants in the soap opera we know as Greenup Co basketball...Hopefully he realizes that too...
