^ I guess I thought some of you had more football savvy than you actually do. For that, I apologize. BG's signature wins are against a good but poorly coached X team, and a 3-6 team from TN.......and they are our flag bearer this year. HHS' best game is a 3 point loss......we all know how Trinity's struggles have gone....what indicates that the quality of football is up? Scholarships? Doubt that will work out that way either. Hey, sometimes you're the best of the worst. Isn't that what a bunch of people said about Louisville in the NCAA's last season?

I believe that McCallie is 3-6...that doesn't help.

I like when we extend beyond state borders, and succeed...

We sure haven't helped...but we have some big time horses in the stable.....so the future is good. It's this year, that I am concerned with.

I look at surprise wins in state.....but also look at our performance out of state.....we are not getting it done.

The further this season progresses the more parity I am seeing. This leads me to believe that the overall level is down from the previous 3-4 seasons.....as a state, we really need for BG to beat Blackman.........and to run through the rest of the season, in a very dominant fashion.....opinions?

Do we not have a right to try and defend it? Also, I believe I have a right to question it's merit, if they refuse to play us, in the early goings on of the '14 football season. Particularly, since we tried to schedule them that last 2-3 seasons.

They have the "opportunity" to play us.....I bet it doesn't happen.

You bet we would.....but it's not, and it wasn't with Boyle either.

We're getting dangerously close to where BG has the opportunity to break our win streak. I know that we plan to try to schedule a game with them before said win streak is broken....I'm hearing it won't happen....what say you? Wouldn't you like to be able to "defend" your record?

Yes.....we lost to HC 13-12 (I believe).....our PK got his ribs broken in practice during the week (he was the backup RB), our backup kicker missed two fg's and two PAT's that game. 1992, Trinity was far and away the best team in the state, great athletes, tremendous senior leadership, etc........they were undefeated and lost a doozy in the playoffs to a very, very athletic Ballard team (ironically, I was on said Ballard team that year......long story). 1993, poor senior leadership, no true identity, lost to Corey Sallee and Butler in the playoffs (he was a freak)...... 1994, it was all coming together, won the first four, lost the next four, made a total overhaul with who was playing where.....didn't look back from that point....(and I was on this Trinity team.....part of long story above).

Thought it was interesting to read that McCallie (TN) is now 3-5....their best win against a team that is #1165 in the country..... calpreps.com
