I never said it was a questionable hire. If Cobb indeed has the job, I'm fairly certain he will do quite well there.

Cobb never coached in 4A is my point...Somerset vs. Pikeville in 2005 (Jackson's first year) isn't a good measuring stick...by that logic Chris McNamee had just thrashed Cobb the previous two years, so he would have been a much better candidate to coach Hendo...I'm just going to agree to disagree with you and let that be it...

Pikeville beat Somerset the two years before that...What I was referring to was Jackson has proved he can win vs. the the big boys of the former 4A and Cobb is unproven in that regard...

I know that, seriously. I'm a Belfry fan, as almost all the Pikeville fans are...I just think the love isn't always returned.

I agree...but Pikeville fans wouldn't be near as interested in it as Belfry fans are in this scenario...

I hear a lot of complaints about a lot of coaching staffs (including Belfry's), but I don't pay any attention to them...

Coach Jackson stated on another thread that he did not apply for the Newport job...As I understand it his wife is from the Henderson area and with it also being one of the top jobs in the state, he (and she) would understandably be interested in moving there... So as much as certain people would love for there to be a big stink in Pikeville, unfortunately for them it's just not the case. One other thing - if Henderson did in fact choose Cobb over Jackson, they are not as savvy as I gave them credit for...

Surprised that Henderson didn't hire Jackson (if the reports are true) - Looks like Henderson Co.'s loss is Pikeville's gain.

What a great post. I said a prayer for LSURock tonight. The small disagreements over sports or politics do not take away from someone being a good person...in other words, LSURock is now in Heaven despite mixing it up with people like me on BGP. ^^You could stand on top of Community Trust Bank and watch it for free, but they are doing repairs to their parking garage. You could pay a couple bucks to get into the pool and watch it from there. And if you are a criminal type you can always just come up from the river bank... $7 is worth it for the semistate. Rather do that any day than pay the Reds $25 to watch mediocre Triple-A ball.:lol:
