  1. The real Pikeville will show up and win big.
  2. And I'm guessing Pikeville would have held Franklin Co. under 70, with the dogs called off early... We can argue until the cows come home, it may not even be Somerset and Pikeville.
  3. It won't be easy. Pikeville needs to beat Hazard this week to get back on track. One thing though, it's too early to say Somerset's defense has improved. Shutting Pineville and Evarts down doesn't mean Somerset can stop a good team.
  4. Hopefully we will find out.
  5. ^^IF Pikeville hosts the regional championship game, it will be VERY hard for ANYONE to come in and beat them. But not impossible. Still not sure which Pikeville team is the real one...the one that crushed Prestonsburg and played Belfry to the wire, or the imposters who have took the field the last two games. We will find out all we need to know about Pikeville this Friday. If they don't straighten up, there won't be a regional championship game played at Pikeville.
  6. ^^ITG is a Pikeville fan. Hence the credibility. I'm going with JC 35, Ashland 20.
  7. I know, it's just too easy. The rest of your post I agree with, see post #6... It's actually good to see Jenkins playing well, just not against Pikeville, lol...
  8. Pikeville had around 350 yards of offense. Jenkins had 85...22 rushes for 1 yard. Jenkins blocked a punt and ran it in to get back in it in the 4th...then scored again. Daniel Harmon of Pikeville rushed for over 180 yards in this game. Pikeville needs to crank it up 3 or 4 notches to have a shot at making a run in the playoffs.
  9. ^^^Let me guess, JC loses in the first round yet again.
  10. I think most people would agree with this. I do.
  11. I'll repeat my logic another way - It will be very hard for Somerset to come into Pikeville and get a win on the road. They are averaging giving up 45 points a game to their good opposition. Pikeville is giving up 20. Somerset will have to find some defense.
  12. This score makes me believe Somerset will demolish Harlan.:sssh:
  13. I'll just agree to disagree...Somerset will not come to Pikeville and win...end of story...
  14. Pikeville team this year is much better, much stronger, and much faster than the team that could have beaten Somerset by 100 the last time they came to Pikeville 2 years ago... Somerset's opponents' 10 wins: Jenkins, Betsy Layne, Evarts, Thomas Walker, VA, Pineville, Jellico, TN, McCreary Central, Oneida, TN, Pineville (again) and Gallatin Co. Not too good, lol... Somerset gave up 70 points to the team that just lost to the team that Pikeville gave up 20 points to. Somerset gave up 180 to their non-district teams --- Franklin Co. (lost to East Jessamine), Danville, SW Pulaski, Warren East... Pikeville gave up 81 to Henry Clay (4th overall in state), East Jessamine (beat Franklin Co, the team that put 70 on Somerset), Prestonsburg, and Belfry... Somerset giving up 25 points a game (180-81) more than Pikeville to good competition...
  15. Hopefully you will bring it to us!!! Hope to see Beechwood/Pikeville in the semis at Pikeville...very well could happen!!!
  16. Somebody had to win.
  17. Pikeville has beaten Somerset 2 out of the last 3 years. Two years ago Somerset came to Pikeville and got thrashed. It will be almost impossible for Somerset to beat Pikeville at Pikeville. Pikeville knows what it takes to get to the top of the mountain. Playing for "2nd place" isn't in Pikeville's vocabulary, and shouldn't be in Somerset's either. BTW, Somerset's wins have come against horrible teams, and Somerset's D has given up a zillion points.
  18. I think this is a great post. To clarify though, East Jessamine lost to Lexington Catholic. But your post still hits the nail on the head. Belfry is great and lost their game by one point. EJ lost to Woodford by 2. So actually Pikeville's losses are very close to being 22-1. And, they are much bigger schools. Now...can they get over the hump??? Many people in Pikeville are saying they are like the '84, '85 and '86 teams (teams that were very good, but came up just short of getting over the hump, right before they won 3 state titles in a row, and could play with anyone in any class), now they are very good and getting ready to get over the hump. Pikeville is very young and has great talent from grades 12 all the way down through 4, they are getting ready to get over the hump once again. Pikeville will be in Louisville soon, and maybe more than once or twice. :dancingpa And, they are working twice as hard as they ever have since the Hillard Howard era.
  19. I can believe Moeller won. Just didn't see a rout. Gotta agree, Hendo dodged a bullet.
  20. Exactly what I expected. Belfry might get to give P'burg one more black eye on the way out, if P'burg can win a playoff game. P'burg program is broken, and only their weak district next year and getting Pikeville and Belfry off their schedule can help them recover.
  21. I agree. If the RB was any good, he would be at Belfry.
  22. WOW! Great win EJ, didn't think this one would happen, although I did think the EJ defense was for real...
