  1. Lincoln County 1974-2005* 35 games 20 wins 15 losses *-(actually 1979-2000; the Patriots have not been in the playoffs for the last 5 years and did not make the playoffs the first 5 years of the school)
  2. I thought you would have the info if anybody did. :thumb:
  3. I would guess that HHS may be the benchmark. Mayfield and Danville will have similar numbers as well.
  4. You're right. I was confusing myself by thinking of another state. In that case, does anybody have 150 playoff game appearances?
  5. This is a good project for Scribe. I don't know the answer and don't have the time to figure it out but, what Kentucky team has the most playoff game appearances? Since the playoff system started in the mid 1970's (approximately 30 years), who has played the most games? Has any team(s) appeared in 100 playoff games?
  6. I don't know how Garrard County got in the discussion. Mercer County had not won a playoff game in about 20 years until last week. They are being led by a new head coach this year with a proven winning track record. Coach Jaggers took Lincoln County to the AAA Finals in 1993 and is an innovative football strategist who learned a lot from his legendary father, Joe Jaggers, and even more from Danville coach Sam Harp, with whom Marty coached from 1997-2004. Marty makes it look easy by lining up in the wishbone (and breaking the bone) but it takes great coaching to execute at the point of attack when the other team knows what's coming. He is good at featuring a back, like he did with Jeremy Simpson at Lincoln County who was the 1993 Mr. Football and who rushed for over 3,000 yards that season. The talent at Mercer County is perfect for Marty's offensive style. I can't tell you who will win because they still play the game with an odd shaped ball that is know to take strange bounces, but Mercer County will be ready to play and will be well coached. Good luck to both teams.
  7. Let's go back to the original three counties: Lincoln, Jefferson and Fayette. It will be quite a commute from Mayfield to attend LCHS in Stanford, but I think the annual state championship will be worth it.
  8. I should have said, "Track and FIELD". The Shot Put and Discus competition would held be as soon as we stepped off the bus. We would be done by 9:30-10:00 AM. We spent the rest of the day trying to stay out of trouble.
  9. I have great memories there, too, but not from football (we never played Somerset in football during my years). I remember going there every year for the Regional track meet. We had some good times there. :thumb:
  10. Absolutely, but you did make me look at a map.
  11. How about EKU? You brought the colleges into it by mentioning UK.
  12. Can you post the B&B letter here?
  13. I posted it a while back in General Discussion. It was emailed to me but I also saw an article about it in the Chicago Sun-Times. It was a month or more ago.
  14. A great idea. Reading poorly-written and grammatically-challenged posts can destory brain cells and cause one to gradually lose a handle on the rules of the English language. We come here for persuasive and informative posts. How many of the posts described by Bluegrassfootballfan are either. Those posts are usually sumarrily dismissed. I say, "About time". Way to go, GURU!!
  15. I've met GURU but I don't see a fat, bald dude in that picture. Just kidding....really...don't suspend me. Maybe this is a trick question. I think you are the guy who took the picture. No, you didn't take the picture. You're the guy trying to figure out how to charge the others for the picture. And to think, it only took you 17 years. Seriously, you should have made this a brainteaser: If a 6th player were added to the picture, what number would his jersey be? 4...10...57...66...84...???? Where is Math when you need him?
  16. I still have a standing offer to sponsor 5 students. Did you forget about me, Guru??
  17. Unfortunately, GURU is telling the truth.....I should know. Some of you may think it is funny but the damage has been done to my life. You see, I didn't come right out and propose to Cheernbhappy but I did become obsessed with her and send her daily PM messages. GURU answered all of them, through the assumed identity, and really led me on. I couldn't believe that such a young person was so smart and perceptive. GURU really reeled me in. Then, it got to the point where I was wishing that my wife was more like Cheer. I started hating my wife just because she couldn't talk about sports....or politics....or history like Cheer. I fell in love with Cheer and fell out of love with my wife of 15 years. Cheer and I exchanged photographs and agreed to meet in Knoxville. I drummed up an alibi for the trip and made all the arrangements, including an airline ticket, rental car and hotel. She (GURU) agreed to spend the weekend with me. I was supposed to leave Friday Night after work. Just before the end of the day, I received an email from GURU telling me to call him. He told me that Cheer had contacted him and told him all the details. He said he wanted to talk me out of it. I was ashamed that he knew but I told him that I didn't want to back out. I told him that I had the chance to find true love and a real soul mate. He listened and pretended to care. He counseled me against my intended infidelity. I told him that I expected him to keep the matter confidential and he agreed. A few minutes later, he called me back. He said that he couldn't let me go through with it and that's when he told me the truth. I was devastated and didn't believe him at first. I rationalized that she had gotten cold feet and was using him to blow me off. He wanted to convince me otherwise and repeated every single detail that I had put in my PM's. He even knew my travel arrangements. I slammed down the phone and sent GURU a nasty email. I explained to him that I was going to start a class action lawsuit against him for fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress. I was sure that there would be others jilted by this sham. GURU called me 18 times over the weekend. I didn't take any of his calls. My wife wanted to know why he was calling me so often. I finally broke down and told her the truth. She was heartbroken. We spent a lot of time trying to work it out to no avail. She knew that I wasn't happy and that I wanted something more than she could give me. I realized that she was right. This morning I packed a bag for the week and will not return home until next weekend. I am going to move out my personal belongings then. I miss my kids already. When I think of them, I want to cry. All I ever wanted from Bluegrasspreps.com was to keep up with Kentucky High School football. However, I let it ruin my life. I am done with this little site, GURU. It's all fun and games until somebody loses a marriage (and at least half of everything he owns). Keep my $10 and buy yourself a life.
  18. and he told GURU the real name for PepRock01 which caused GURU to suspend Christopher Lloyd, who then...
  19. nailed the accelerator and got the Delorean up to 88 MPH, the flux capacitor kicked in and he went back in time 10 minutes where he...
