I don't know a single person that follows baseball at all who predicted Castillo was going to be an anchor on this year's staff. He's 25 and had less than 90 MLB innings coming into this year. Tonight was his 30th career start. Give him a chance. -

Yes, and I think/hope Hamilton will get traded as we approach the deadline. I do think he has some value to a contender as a pinch runner & defensive replacement, particularly teams with larger outfields. -
Clay County residents alone filled prescriptions for 2.2 million doses of hydrocodone & about 617,000 doses of oxycodone during a 12 month period in 2016. That's roughly 150 doses for every man, woman and child. McKesson Corporation is a major part of the problem -- between January 2010 and the end of 2016, McKesson alone distributed 18.4 million doses of painkillers in Floyd County, KY -- enough for 477 pills for every adult and child in the county. Perry County, KY was even worse, with 526 doses per person. The Pharmacies Thriving in Kentucky's Opioid-Stricken Towns - The Atlantic 477 Pain Pills Per Person: Kentucky Sues Opioid Drug Company

Calling for a slider there is bad; hanging the slider is worse. Nonetheless, I'm excited about Castillo.

The conflict makes it apparent that the KHSAA doesn't understand the "larger scope of the picture." The KHSAA's Mission Statement: "To provide governance and leadership in order to regulate and progressively administer the highest quality interscholastic sports and sport-activities in an efficient manner, and promote the values of participation for all involved in education-based athletics and school-based sports. The KHSAA will work collaboratively with its member schools to recognize and promote the primary focus of high school academic success and college and career readiness for the student participants, risk minimization for all participants in the programs, and the efficient administration of the education-based athletic program in the schools." The KHSAA failed its student-athletes here.
