The ONLY Purple Haze my wife has in her eyes is me. Somebody else backed John Hardin, and that was great (and he's welcome to meet us at the game too). You didn't have a problem with that. devils58 knows me to be a very congenial host who does not have time for such "school spirit". People who are members here, such as St X Supporter Supreme Oxnard, and Trinity fanatics PepRock and Rockmom know us to be very classy fans who do not want an "us against the world" reputation. By the way, we already know that we must play John Hardin Friday, and our guys and staff prepared accordingly. With the gut-twisting schedule in the postseason we have to play, you can't overlook anybody. Seems to me that you still have two more games to play before you can do that. So who's overlooking whom? I can guarantee you that Coach Mueller and his guys won't be. With that said, here is my opinion: 1. BGHS (Sic 'em, Purple!!!) 2. Highlands 3. John Hardin 4. Pulaski Co By the way, please do us the tremendous favor of providing much more bulletin board fodder for our Fieldhouse. And, lastly, one can't quantify heart, but one should know when it's there. The Purples have plenty of it to spare! To jbwill: I do not include you among the poor sports. I've always known you to be an excellent Highlands backer who doesn't have to talk down other programs to make yourself feel superior. Keep doing what you do! I consider you to be a true goodwill ambassador of Highlands Football, and that's what I respect! :thumb:

Rank the remaining 5A teams
This is something that I really wish everyone would understand....when you post in a public forum, you not only represent yourself but the school, the program, the fans, parents, coaches and the players....I don't care who wins....In my book, there is not one young man who plays high school football a loser. These young men are doing it only for the love of the game and to build memories.

Rank the remaining 5A teams
Yes, actually I just might. And, for your information, I am not jumping the gun. Of couse I know that BG will need to beat John Hardin first....I am not stupid!!!! This thread is to rank the teams THE WAY YOU SEE IT....this is the way I see it. Thank you for your concern on me not understanding how these things work....:ohbrother: I am always happy to be educated on things that I already understand!!!!!:deadhorse::deadhorse::thumb:

St. Xavier/Greenwood Predictions
PH has enlightened me on this story. In 1996, Greenwood hosted BGHS during a driving rainstorm. The Purples posted a come from behind 25-21 victory. We actually came up with the nickname of The Swamp because of the horrid field conditions. We did not think that Greenwood would take the name and make it an affectionate term for their field. They have taken great pride in it every since. Now you know the story!:thumb:

Pigskin, people have been trying to get this thread back on topic....so, I am going to start fresh in doing just that! Congrats to the Purples!!! You all make up a great team and we are all very proud of you. You all have what it takes to get the job done.....Now, get it done!! LOL See ya all next week for another great game. PH and I will be there along with the other fans to cheer you all on!!! Play with heart, play for the love of the game, play for memories and no matter what happens, you all will always be winners!!!

Absolutely right! BGHS, in their attempts to win state titles, arguably has the toughest road there. Add to that the fact that LexCath and CovCath had quite possibly the finest teams in their histories, plus Highlands had another great unbeaten team. Out west, you have old, bitter rivals who have been playing each other since the 1920s and 1930s. They not only take physical tolls, but mental tolls as well. Make no mistake, it doesn't take a state title for me to respect our opponents or root harder for the young men who proudly wear the Purple and Gold!! And I would have rooted just as hard for Owensboro or Christian Co if they beat us...anybody who knows me (like devils58) knows that this is not said in a flippant or insincere manner! With that said, Sic 'em, Purple!!! :ylsuper:

SR WR/K Zach Williams was perfect on his PATs Congratulations to Christian Co for posting a good record against a very tough schedule! I hope their guys hold their heads up high!:thumb: Next week, the Purples will cap the 40th Anniversary of Elvis Donaldson Stadium/Monie Beard Field by hosting John Hardin!
