Final.

It looks as if Greenwood silenced some critics. 13 people picked against them while 1 lone soul went for them.

Congratulations, Gator Nation, on your first ever region title!! This Purples Fan is going to twist for you!

Ahhh, it's good to be right. It happens every so often.

Greenwood pretty well dominated this game. Henderson County had one real drive, their last of the first half, where they nickel and dimed their way up the field. Other than that, Greenwood stuffed their run game and forced the Colonels to try to pass the ball, something that did not go well. Greenwood had some trouble getting offense of their own for some of the night, but finally broke through thanks to a rather moronic Henderson County attempt to convert a 4th and 1 from their own 38, while the score was 13-7. Greenwood eventually punched that in, and momentum swung in their direction permanently with about 10 minutes left in the game. The ensuing kickoff squibbed all the way down to the 2, and Henderson County started from their own three. They ended up punting from their end zone, and Greenwood put the game away for good with a fake punt that the kicker took to the house from 31 yards out to go up 28-7. They coasted from there.

This has been a historic season for the Gators. First regional title appearance. First regional title win. First road playoff win. First 10 win season.

Great win for Greenwood. Now I will say that I have picked you guys all year. But I didn't for this game and here is why, I went with Henderson because they (you guys too) have had a good year and they tradition but I WAS wrong. Now that is not my first time and want be my last. Greenwood has made me believe in them now. Is next week game at your house or St. X? Good luck next week.

What kind of stadium does Greenwood have?

What kind of stadium does Greenwood have?

Small (especially visitor side)--seats around 1200 which is the smallest of all 4 high schools in the area.

It won't be large enough to seat a third of the ST X fans.

I don't believe they'll move it from Greenwood unless forced to.

Unbelievable isn't it.

yeah moronic...4th and 1 foot...the punter had averaged 12 yards a punt before that.

I'm fairly certain that is an exaggeration, but you have to look at the consequences in a situation like that. Get it, great, you keep the ball, 4 more downs, you're still on your side of the field down 6. Fail, and you put your defense in a nigh-unwinnable situation. Risk/reward. Up to that point, Greenwood had not been moving the ball well in the second half. It was a one score game. That stop energized Greenwood and nothing really went right for Henderson after that.

The 1 foot is an absolute exaggeration too. If anything, it was a long 1 yard.
