Mark Pope is terrific human being. He is also a wonderful former Kentucky student athlete. What he is not, is the answer as head coach. It pains me to say this. I really want it to work out for Mark, but two years in it all looks like a deer in headlights. The high NIL payroll roster from this year had nothing but role players. The execution on the court was lacking regardless of the players in the locker room. The "Cardiac Cats" as I called them many times this year.

I like Pope and I really am rooting for him. I just don't know if he's the guy.

I 100% agree. CCH, as well as other schools in the 9th, will all benefit. CCH had a cakewalk in the 9th this year and it did not bode well come Sweet 16 time.

I am in 100% agreement with @Big East Zebra on this one. Both of these teams should have met later on in the tournament. Covington Catholic ran into a buzzsaw today. They had a nice 1st Q, and then St. X asserted their dominance in more ways than one. As others in this thread have mentioned, when you shoot lights out, you will win. I do not see another team in this tourney beating the Mighty Tigers. And "Mighty" they certainly ARE. I believe the tournament should be seeded like the NCAA Tourney.

If St X plays the way they did today, no one will beat them the rest of the way. What a great team. I wish this was not a first round matchup.

Will UK make the NCAA Tourney?

Cincinnati's Wes Miller has been fired after 5 seasons. Miller leaves with a 100-74 record with the Bearcats, who moved from the American to the Big 12 during his tenure. In five seasons, the Bearcats have not made any NCAA Tourney appearances. Who is up next as the head coach of the Bearcats?

Agreed. Instead, Hendrickson went for free to the inter-division Ravens. They may not be done, but this defense and the moves made don't scream top 10 defense. To go from worst to first is asking a lot as is, but they have to make Burrow happy or we are going to possibly see Carson Palmer 2.0. People don't believe me when I say that.

My belief is that Cov Cath rolls in this one. A 2-5 point win. A neck and neck game until the end, maybe even OT.

The Bengals will always be the Bengals. Everyone knows what that means. They are a textbook inept organization from top to bottom. I truly do not believe that Burrow will finish his career as a Bengal. Of course, I hope that I am wrong. The team signed, in my opinion, band aid players for the defense. The defense will still not be good. A 31-year-old journeyman DT at the end of his career, a D end who is no Trey Hendrickson, and a safety who has had some clutch plays, but is no Jesse Bates by any means. And Sonny Styles will be a Rookie. Cannot rely on first year players! Too wet behind the ears. Maybe I am too pessimistic, but the Bengals were not honest with anyone this offseason when they said they were going to make changes to the roster. At least quality changes. if I am Burrow, I am not happy.

It is sad one of these two teams is going home early.

You can say the Bengals aren't a team to make blockbuster trades but when Crosby is available you swing for the fences. I wonder how Burrow feels now. He faces his existing foes Watt and Garrett twice a year already and now add in Crosby!

I think the hometown kid Cook is a quality signing but I scratch my head on the overpay in my opinion for Mafe. If we had an owner and a competent GM who wanted to truly win it all we would have made the trade for Crosby to surely replace the outgoing head case Hendrickson.
