I think the 9th is going to be all over the place and any team may lose on any given night (minus Cov Cath) but come district play I think the Cats Pause is pretty close. Surprises me my top 8 were as close to the Cats Pause as it is. Beechwood not getting enough respect I hope ruffles their feathers. I may be just completely off on them, but I think they got something cooking over there in Ft. Mitchell that's going to suprise alot of people when its all said an done.

Yes from a competition standpoint. Summer basketball is all over the place but was hoping maybe they were adding some pieces that weren't there in the summer. Sandfoss is a big body that should give them some good minutes but I could see him being " ran " off the floor in certain matchups. Bivens is a heck of an athlete and competitor I could see him giving them good minutes. After Sandfoss missing extended time in football this year due to injury and being committed to Marshall for football it highly surprises me he is playing basketball. But really glad he is getting the most out of the time he has left in high school and giving it a go.

This right here is it for me. Some try to force a square into a circle. Some big time college and NFL OC's can't seem to figure out how to feather an offense to their talent and try to force the talent to fit their scheme. To do it for 15+ years at an extremely high clip of winning games and championships, phew! This guy has put a ton of work in at 54 Beechwood Rd. He is Ft. Mitchell through and through. And that's not even including what he did as a player there.

4,000 yards and counting. Wow. The equivalent to 2.27 miles. I'm going to "guess-stimate" he could have ran that 2+ miles in roughly 11 minutes. But I am so much more happy we got to see him do it over 4 years. The young man is an incredible football player all around.

I think Henry County comes into this one with more confidence then their first matchup with the Juggs. First, knocking off East Carter was a big win. Everyone had them wrote off, including myself, except for the folks in Henry County. They got to believe their doing something right. Henry seen they could move the ball some vs the Juggs in their last go around. I would say that Henry actually had a bigger hand in stopping themselves than the Juggs did. They didn't really have an issue moving the ball forward, even if it was just a few yards a time. Moving the ball forward is the name of the game. What they did have an issue with? Moving backwards, due to an unworldly amount of penalties, which I think most were false starts. I will say I would rather see lineman and backs firing off early rather than nonchalant. That means they were anxious for contact and weren't shying away from the Juggs. Or it was nervousness, but I think it was anxiousness. The penalties hurt them badly. It seemed like every time they had a 2nd/3rd and short or manageable they moved backwards due to a penalty. Henry is not designed to be able to move backwards and then be able to account for getting those yards back, plus some. Penalties killed their drives. Can't over come that vs a good team like Lloyd. I don't see Henry shooting themselves in the foot nearly as much if any in this game Friday night. Does that win them the game? No Scotty it doesn't. But it let's them control the clock and field position alot better than the last matchup and in return keeps the Juggs offense off the field more, which makes it harder for the Juggs to score points. Helps Henry's defense out a ton if their offense isn't killing drive after drive around the 40 and 50 due to penalties. Henry's defense simply can not hang with a Juggs offense, especially when it is being put back out on the field every 4-5 plays. Henry's defense forced a couple turnovers vs the Juggs last time. I think that showed Henry that the Juggs are human ( Barger??? ) and that Henry is capable of making plays against them. #16 Ray is a head cracking, bowling ball of a running back. It is hard to stop that kid from picking up plus yardage, even if it's just little chunks sometimes. Again, getting plus yardage is the key component in football and Ray does that. I don't think the Juggs are looking forward to banging with him again. Henry needs to pass the ball some more too though to help Ray's workload. They completed a few well designed underneath pass plays in the last matchup that helped extend drives. They need to incorporate more of that. Lloyd put 9 in the box vs them in the last one and they will do it again this time. It's the only way to stop Ray. What I want to see from Lloyd is.... Better start wrapping up on first contact, on every down, for all 4 quarters because the playmakers in the next couple rounds aren't just going down. Don't turn the ball over!!!!! Bourbon remembers Lloyd put the ball on the ground and Russell is aware of it too. Both those teams also feel like if the ball is in the air, it's theirs. Make the play on 50/50 balls on offense and defense. Need to see alot more of that when the opportunities arise. Get the ball in #4's hands. I can't be the only one to notice that the kid hits a crease like greased lightning??? My eyes are not that good @DRKARK, am I off on that assessment? If my eyes are correct, is Lloyd's offense so pristine it needs NOT to make use of all options that can flip the field in the blink of an eye? I've seen almost 20 kids touch the ball for Lloyd over the year and Barger is probably the only one who has the same ability in terms of flipping the field in the blink of an eye as the M. Peterson kid. Lloyd has kids that are fast but what #4 does translates different...whether with the ball in his hands, on special teams or defense. That's what the film has said, if my eyes are correct. In rounds 3, 4, 5 they are going to need to use every "spade" they have. It almost seems like they are trying to hide the kid in their "pocket"...That, or they do not trust the kid and he just gets "lucky". Hold Henry to under 125 rushing yards. Which is going to be alot more challenging this time if Henry can keep the flags off the field. Hold Henry scoreless. Can the defense really buckle down if Henry plays error free football? Is there going to be any dawgs that protect the front porch from intruders? If Henry gets to the front porch, can they bust down the door? Henry doesn't possess nearly enough speed for this to be close but Henry finds a moral victory in not getting running clocked by a team that should be playing on Dec. 6. Lloyd-41 Henry-14 (6+8)

I think Nishawn could have got Lloyd to round 3 last year. The injury bug hit Lloyd hard last year in round 2 at the skill positions and he could have been the difference in that one.

Patience is a virtue for sure! I think the Golsby family and Dixie community is very proud of Nishawn! I know I liked watching him over the years. Hope he keeps playing at some place somewhere.

Phew. You hit it on the head there. That type of DNA is different. Golsby would have elevated this Lloyd team. Lloyd has a young player this year of Golsby's caliber that they could use to help them in a title run that it seems has been wrote off. Could possibly be the same reason Golsby ended up at Dixie.

Don't get me wrong though, somebody is going to have to earn this one. These teams know each other well and there is a ton of mutual respect between the two. History says they have to. They have played 20 times. Series 10-10. Holy Cross won the first 6 from 2007-2012. Newport has won 8 of the last 10. With 2 four game winning streaks including the one they are currently riding into this matchup. I know Holy Cross feels comfortable with who they are. They feel like they have a good mixture of experience with young talent. Their sophomore class beat Newport in the 8th grade middle school small division championship which still seems like it was not that long ago. And they let Newport know all about it. The young Cats still have a nasty taste in their mouth from that one. The older Cats don't really know too much about losing to Holy Cross and they don't plan on finding out. This is a game where names are made or solidified and people remember it for ever.

NCC beating Campbell County was a good win. Ballard should have merked Campbell. Jacob Savage isn't looking forward to playing for the Hoosiers yet. He is looking to cross Ballard off his hit list. @Tigerpride94 35-7 sounds about right.

I get it 1000%. 40's may be looked at as prime to some. Honestly, Perrin will no doubt ride it out at Holy Cross with this sophomore class they have. That would be in his and their best interest. The Scott job will probably be open when those kids graduate anyways and he will be more well rounded when that time comes. I think he is having a ball right now.

When I think of old. I think of Joe Pa. But maybe that's extreme.
