  1. Does Beechwood stream their games? My youngest son is of course sick and if he's not better tomorrow, I'd like an option to watch at home. Thanks!
  2. I don't know squat about Boyle County, but I know Ed's is an absolute machine. I have to go with Ed's in this one. With that being said, St. Ed's typically loses a game early in season, their coach just makes sure they are playing their best football starting in about week 8. So if you are going to take on a giant, now is the time.
  3. I expect Beechwood to win. They have too many offensive weapons and better coaching. I expect another high scoring affair like last year, which was one of the most entertaining football games I've seen in years. For Dixie to have a chance at a win, they have to make Beechwood 1 dimensional and make the Tigers run the ball. Don't let the Tigers Receivers run wild. But I think Beechwood's passing attack opens up on Friday night.
  4. Yes, they have some wideouts with speed. They struggle in the trenches, so I expect the Dixie pass rush to negate the passing threat.
  5. Highlands Trinity Union Co. Franklin Co. DeSales
  6. Once again, Anderson is NOT a town. You are incorrect. There is Anderson Township, which is very different from a town. You're friends address says Cincinnati, not Anderson.
  7. Anderson slings it all over. They run a crazy fast no-huddle with probably the most sophisticated passing scheme in high school football. It keeps teams very off balanced. They don't play defense well overall and try to outscore everyone. Looking at the stats, Anderson only had offensive plays...16 pass attempts with 14 completions for 356 yards and 6 TDs. They rushed 10 times for 30 yards and 1 TD. They only possessed the ball for 12 minutes and 31 seconds. Film doesn't do justice how quickly they can get plays off.
  8. No it's not. The school is Anderson and it has a Cincinnati address.
  9. Cincinnati Hughes travels to Dixie Heights Friday night. Hughes won their first game against Dayton Dunbar (not to be confused with Paul Laurence Dunbar in Lexington) 28-8. Hughes is a D-III school in Cincinnati with about 1200 kids grades 7-12. Dixie comes off a loss to Simon Kenton where the Colonels' offense scored 35 points, almost 300 yards rushing, BUT gave up 50 points by allowing Pioneer receivers to run free all night long. Hughes is traditionally a team that struggles to put it nicely. Dixie needs this win to have any hopes of salvaging this season. Will the Colonels have what it takes to stop the Big Red from Hughes?
  10. I don't want to bash anyone, but I think it's coaching. It's poor scheme, even worse technique, and lack of conditioning. The staff seems unorganized during the games last year and again this year. Who goes for a QB sneak inside your own 30 on 4th and 3 when you are only down 1 score? Based on what I saw last night, they are going to be lucky to win 3 games this season. I hope I'm wrong and they figure it out.
  11. Both. If half the passes weren't overthrown, they would've scored 100+.
  12. Cool pics. Random question, not sure where to put it but always wondered and no official has been able to give me a definitive answer and it's regarding stiff-arms. 1. Why is a ball carrier the only person allowed to touch a facemask of an opposing player? 2. When did the stiff-arm change. You used to have to have your arm completely extended, elbow locked, now ball carriers will essentially open arm punch defenders in the face. The arm isn't stiff anymore. Just wondering why this started happening, because I do believe the rule states you can't deliver a blow to the face (not sure exact language.)
  13. How did Dixie manage under 50 plays running a no-huddle offense? I thought the point of a no-huddle was to run as many plays as possible to increase your chances of scoring. They may as well huddle so they can change formations mid series. By comparison using the numbers above, SK had over 50% more plays at 75 because their no huddle actually moved quickly.
  14. Only when you are not in shape. Whenever we had 2 way players, they had a completely different conditioning regimen than the other players. You would be up front with them that we were going to put them thru the wringer and made sure they were on board, that way they weren't on the sidelines struggling. 2 way players aren't very effective when they aren't in the game.
  15. Correct. And he was so incredibly winded on the sidelines every time I looked down with his helmet off. A kid who was clearly the best player on field shouldn't have been off the field at all. Dixie is very poorly conditioned which led to all the dumb penalties in second half, because overall it was clean by both teams in 1st half.
  16. I would love to see the film, as I swear he spent more time on sidelines then in game overall, before he got hurt.
  17. SK could've put a 100 up if the QB hit his wide open receivers that were behind Dixie coverage all night. Probably first week nerves since he threw some really nice balls.
  18. Same with going for a QB sneak on 4 &3 inside your own 30 and not even getting an inch when you are only down 1 score. SK scores shortly after, it was over after that.
  19. It's going to be a LONG year for the Colonels. They are sadly out of shape, the team was gasping for air halfway in the first quarter, visibly exhausted. Amd there defense is just not good. SK has a nice team and if their QB can get his accuracy down, which I'm sure he will, they can be dangerous. Good luck to both teams.
  20. At least it wasn't the pre-game meal.
  21. Nope, I just know he's a big thick guy and if I were in charge, he'd get the ball 30+ times a game. As mentioned, high school football is predicated on the ability to run the ball. They'll need a run game with what I believe is a young O-line.
  22. I don't know much about this year's team. But I look for a lot of carries from Armani Gregg, and that'll wear on any defense.
  23. Anderson by a LOT. Their offense is too good and their no huddle is too fast for anyone to replicate in practice. It's not unusual for them to run over 80 offensive play in a game.
  24. Corbin Bowling Green South Warren Dixie Lloyd
  25. I'm relaxed, I just want clear cut rules enforced, especially when it's supposed to be emphasized this season.
