  1. 5 - Ryle 4 - Bell County 3 - LCA 2 - CovCath 1 - Bowling Green 55
  2. There’s a belief that two teams in the same district should face each other before the state finals. the RPI has eliminated actual Regional final contests. The 3rd round should not be called a Regional final. I do hope they CCH and HHS face each other in the state finals.. NKY dominating in any class is fine with me.
  3. Eddie Bivens had 25 carries for 342 yards…l think he could have gotten over 400 with just 5 more carries the way he was ripping off runs. Holes so big, like tossing a hotdog down a hallway ?
  4. NewCath is going to have to impose their will on them like they did last year in order for that to happen. Brossart is not going to lay down.
  5. Girls sports across the board have good teams that compete with NKY schools. The culture is just different between the two schools.
  6. NewCath is a football school. Brossart is not. This isn’t a shot at Brossart, just different.
  7. This week’s matchup is quickly becoming known as the battle of “Big Bro vs Lil Bro” in the second round of Single A playoffs here in NKY. NewCath is coming off a lopsided 42-0 victory over Trimble Co while Brossart got it going in the 4th against Bellevue 30-6. Last year’s matchup was a missed PAT from being a running clock where NewCath bested Brossart 41-14. Both sides know each other very well and will be ready for this one to kick off 7pm in Park Hills on Friday.
  8. No offense taken from your question, but why would I throw out names of Coaches that are interested? What does that do other than stir the pot/create a potential distraction? The position is not even open...and it may very well stay that way. Interest in a program is not hard to garner when you dominate single A NKY and have near 50% participation rate in Football compared to male enrollment. It's a great job and would be hard to give up, as well as great to get if you ask me.
  9. As a fan and competitor I like the format. Statewide intrigue, yes. Statewide travel budget nightmares....also yes.
  10. I think... (I KNOW for a fact) there is a lot of interest in the NCC position if Lickert is not the coach next year. and No I am not naming names...LOL
  11. Trimnell would be a great hire IMO. No idea if he has interest, but someone from Scott should at least have a phone call with this guy!
  12. I can't answer that, but those two are transfers I was referring to.
  13. NCC roster on KHSAA website is not accurate. They are going to have at least 2 seniors return after not playing their Jr year and 2 athletic transfers joining as well. All football kids so their size and physicality will get a nice bump from last year.
  14. Connor goes above NCC and HC is out. The schedule HC played was weak to say the least. Brossart and Bracken were by far the toughest games on their schedule. HC and NCC will not play in third round due to RPI taking effect. If they would play, (IMO)NCC wins by 3-4 touchdowns.
  15. First week of playoffs which means Trimble Co makes its way up to NKY this Thursday to take on the Thoroughbreds. Don’t see this one being close. NewCath names the score and a running clock early.
  16. Mason Co. (3-6) travels to Park Hills to take on NewCath (5-4) who have managed to rattle off 4 straight wins and running through district play. Common opponents: Connor handled each easily while the other common opponent was Boone Co. NewCath defeated the Rebels 40-0 while a much Mason had a much closer victory of 21-13. Last regular season game could have some RPI implications for NewCath. Who you taking in this one?
  17. Appreciate the knowledge!! I’d say that’s a nice little dominant footprint on Class A football in NKY. Couple that with what is coming up through the ranks…I don’t see that changing any time in the next 5 or so years… Great time to be a Thoroughbred!
  18. NewCath did whatever they wanted. Gotta clean up the missed PAT’s. Onto Mason Co… not sure the last time NewCath lost the district title, but it never gets old.
  19. Those that have followed NCC this year knew this schedule was going to be tough early. The NCC faithful like the scheduling Lickert has done IMO. NCC always punches up and come prepared for playoffs. They have about 100-110 boys in the school and 48 play football. We are still figuring things out up front and seem to be coming together at the perfect time.
