You are missing out on a great fundraising opportunity. You have so many other schools living rent free in your head. You could make a fortune charging them. You sound like an old woman on a party line that’s more worried about everyone else.

Back in the day Harrodsburg and Mercer County was a big time rivalry. Mercer kids once unloaded a bunch of pigs thru the backdoor of the Harrodsburg gym right at tip-off.

In 1990, in Indiana state tournament attendance was 980,000. By 1997, the year before they went to a class system, state tournament attendance had already dropped by 200,000. The true reason for attendance decline is more easily traced to simple changing demographics. In Ky, the younger crowd doesn’t have the same school loyalty they once had. Kids bounce from school to school. Consolidation has taken the community loyalty that once existed out of the equation. Older people vacationed at the Sweet 16. Not anymore.

Just go to 4 classes. Makes way more sense. In your scenario, Western Hills and Frankfort to the 8th and Franklin County and TFCA in a district in the 11th with Great Crossing and Scott County. FC is, time wise as close to GC as it is WH.

I saw that proposal in a good article on Vaught’s Views a few weeks ago. And the those 4 class winners playing for an overall Sweet 16 championship. We don’t have 700 like sized schools any more. Time to step into the 21st century with our high school sports.

That shipped sailed the year FC had 8 kids who had been in the FIS system. For accuracy sake, the 2 schools didn’t play regularly until Foley started playing them. Coach Webb only played FC 9 times. Teams are in classes for a reason. The smart move is to play schools of comparable size.
