  1. I've heard of one assistant at an area school who has applied. Any names from you guys?
  2. Something to think about: "Supposedly" a candidate was offered the job this week. It's Thursday, and there is yet to be an announcement. That could mean it was turned down? There is now a shift in who is running the weight program. Does this indicate Rogers has moved on? Say the job is still not filled by the weekend, it appears as if the process isn't over. So where will Lincoln go next? This thing is just now heating up.
  3. Besides everything else today. Were there any more confirmed interviews today?
  4. I just don't think his record speaks loud enough, especially in 3A Football. Not recently that is. It's not a knock to Josh either. Just opinions I've gathered.
  5. I'm told that weight lifting will continue this week. Cooper is a teacher, but can not lift during their 6th period class due to schedule conflicts. I'm told he is going to continue the lifting program after-school. I'm not sure how to read this in regards to Rogers. This may indicate he's talked to enough people to realize he isn't getting a job, or, he knows he has a opportunity elsewhere? Interesting developments going on this morning. Still feel for these guys. Both great men and these situations should and could have been avoided.
  6. It was their decision to begin the weight program. They did that for the kids and the program. I think both thought they'd be interviewed, at least. For them to determine right now to pause the lifting, that shows you how poorly the administration has handled things. Two men working for the program while they don't even know their own futures? Speaks volumes. I think this move is to just hope that a hire is made quicker. I agree it's a shame this happened, but 100% justified.
  7. Rumbling are out of control. I'll provide what I have confirmed, which is still not as much as I hoped. Weight training was canceled this evening, according to their team Facebook page. After reaching out, this decision came from the current coaches running the weights. Both have applied, and have not been interviewed. Out of respect for the kids, they decided it best to wait and see what happens. They began the weight program weeks ago thinking a hire would have been made at this point (Assumedly one of them) and here they are, going on 3 weeks. It will be hard on the kids to have to adjust if neither coach is hired. Also, I did not get a name, but one of the current Head Coaches mentioned on the thread has been interviewed and even potentially offered the job. I've talked to 7 people, and It was a perfect 7/7 who were upset with the fact that Rogers and Cooper are being kept in the dark. I think this job is filled by Friday. I have to go to work but this is what I have!
  8. Big developments coming. Trying to confirm it all.
  9. From rumblings I've been told (And who knows what to believe) If Rogers gets the job, Cooper and Marcum will both stay. If Cooper gets the job, Marcum would stay but Rogers maybe leaves? If neither get the job, it's hard to see any of the three staying. Football in Lincoln would much different in 2022 compared to the last 4 years if this happens. I for one do not see that as a positive thing. Very important the correct hire is made. For the current players but most importantly for the future. The administration has to consider this. Rogers is ready to be a HC. Cooper will make a fine coordinator for somebody if he doesn't get the chance at Lincoln. Marcum has been around the program for 10+ years as a coach. They need to keep these guys if possible.
  10. It's being kept hush hush. I assume this is to keep Rogers and Cooper from realizing they may not be considered. They're running the weight program (Working for free) and have yet interviewed or heard about one. Sounds like the administration is just taking their time because they know the program is in good hands currently. I hate to see it.
  11. For what it's worth, and then is simply a question, if Lincoln got out-coached in these games, will Rogers or Cooper provide a better result? I think there is confidence in both of their abilities. So I'm just curious. I think we should refrain from comparing coaches who have 0 interest or influence in Lincoln Football. Let's just just talk about their candidates now.
  12. Expectations will be different depending on the hire. If they hire Rogers or Cooper (Both first year) then I think they will receive more slack, considering the roster turnover. .500 is very acceptable, and maybe a playoff win. If they go out of the way to hire Jaggers, Foley, Clevenger, Senters, then expectations will rise, although that isn't realistic. Lincoln has a tough district, and EXTREMELY tough non-district schedule coming up. Road games at Pulaski and Southwestern, along with a home game vs Bell. That's as good as it gets. Casey and East Jessamine will be more winnable. Season opener vs Danville. The Lincoln schedule is loaded. I think there is a chance some kids transfer, as it is a chance every time you have a coaching change. I hope people come to senses and make the correct hires. I think you avoid that if you hire the first candidates I mentioned.
  13. Agree. The record speaks for itself on both. They helped change the Lincoln program with Crutchfield. Both played at Lincoln. Both are Lincoln guys. It shouldn't be in question. I have heard that one of the two has moved on and is assuming a Coordinator position could be a better alternative. But I'm still confirming that.
  14. There is truth to this. Cooper is a teacher in the building, Marcum is pursing other things in life so he may not be back., and Rogers is not a teacher that I'm aware of. I tend to think Marcum will stay on if Rogers or Cooper get the job. I do know for a fact that both coaches have reached out to potential candidates about coming to Lincoln. I think it's extremely important both Rogers and Cooper get an interview. Both are invested at Lincoln and their opinions should be valued on the direction the Lincoln program should go. Regardless if they are hired (And I still think both would be a fine HC) their opinions need to be valued. Regardless, Lincoln is hurting themselves by going slowly. How can a coach bring on assistants? Most are already taking other jobs and moving as is. Can anyone confirm if Rogers and Cooper have interviewed for the position yet? I know initial interviews began last week, from a source.
  15. That's the total opposite of what I'm being told, for what it's worth. I said yesterday everyone has different connections. He is young, but everyone starts somewhere. I'd be careful by questioning somebody's knowledge of the game.
  16. I would think a few of these guys will be interested. Jaggers, Foley, Clevenger makes sense. Not sure about the others. Real question: Is Buchanan interested at Lincoln?
  17. What exactly is best for the kids in your opinion? Nothing intended by that, I just like comparing viewpoints. Who in this job consideration is best for the kids?
  18. Will there be a hire by the end of the month?
  19. Rogers maybe should be careful on how open his "If it's not me, I'm leaving" message gets. If the wrong ears heard, they could eliminate him from consideration because of that. This thread is going to pass Garrard!
  20. He's well liked in the community and by the players. I've heard his name more personally than some of the others being considered. Now, everyone has different connections. I hear Rogers name a lot also. But as far as Cooper, He's put in 6 years coaching for the program, at two levels. He's also a teacher in the system. I would hesitate to say "he's not ready to be a head coach" since I don't know him. But, going by facts presented, I think he would be a fine candidate.
  21. He and Mike Godbey (Lincoln Principal) worked together in the past. Assume that's the connection.
  22. It sounds like Lincoln knows who they want the most, but it may not happen. Odds are pointing toward Foley because of his connections to the Lincoln administration, from what I understand. But Foley was recently terminated correct? That's a interesting twist to this..
  23. From what I understand, Jaggers is no longer at the top. There were initial meetings but it doesn't appear to have gained traction. The same with Clevenger. I wasn't at the meetings, just going by what I'm told!
