I feel like I’m the only person that just wants to support the program no matter who they hire, I’m I wrong for that? All the names listed are fantastic candidates in my personal opinion.

Mercer County job just opened, wonder if this will effect some of the interest at Lincoln any? Should be interesting.

Seems like the going thing is their either really good at football or really good at basketball, never really good at both. Tough to be really good at 2 sports.

It’s awesome to hear about Levi and cooper though. I’m glad they both stepped up to take things over, speaks volumes of how much they love the program. They are doing the right thing regardless of how this plays out! Good men for leading those kids.

Colton Ralston doesn’t, Evan smith, jalen smith, William bishop, Jason petrey, none of those play football either, so basically the entire team doesn’t play football,

That basketball program is a well oiled machine. They still have kid after kid coming through, youth league, aau at a very early age, then middle school and high school, they have it figured out for sure. Need to apply that to All sports but I’ve realized most kids just like basketball, not because they are being told to play one sport, they just like it the best, it’s a fast paced non contact sport, some kids are not built for football.

I agree with this sentiment, I’m not sure he’s even saying anything like that, just doesn’t seem like the type to me, so people blowing stuff up here could end up having him disconnected from the job all together which is silly, I would ask that everyone keep their comments about if he said anything or not to themselves, could end up hurting him in the long run, but just my opinion he doesn’t seem like the type to say things like this thread insists, let the job search play out, if I mentioned everything I’ve been told in this thread you all would know too much or you might not know anything at all, everything is hear say, and nothing is concrete, just because an administration doesn’t jump At the first person to apply is not necessarily a bad thing and it shouldn’t be taken the wrong way, they are doing their due diligence and want to make sure they get the right guy no matter who it is, if that makes people mad, then well that’s what’s wrong with most school systems is parents, boosters and certain people keeping control. Nothing will ever move forward, just my 2 cents!

Jaggers is the top choice. In my opinion, If they can’t make that work, I really feel Rogers will be the next head coach. Just my opinion.

Who stays, who moves up and who moves down? Does Boyle County move back down to 3A? Heard Lincoln enrollment was down enough for them to be 3A as well, can anyone verify that?

Also if Scenters is hired I think their is a good possibility Rogers stays on, he was on staff at Garrard with him so they know eachother well.

Mark Scenters is a good hire too, he’s good at developing kids, he did it at Garrard County, they had some of the best years of football during his tenure, where ever he ends up next he won’t leave, unless fired. He only left Garrard to come back home, and I’d say he regrets it badly now.

If I’m not mistaken he also coached under Mark Scenters at Garrard, which in my personal opinion were the best years of Garrard County football, it was the only time in school history they made it to the state semi’s. After that sports in Garrard have been kinda well. Just non existent, I think Lincoln is doing the right thing here, if they have Head Coaches applying that have already been successful, it would be silly not to atleast interview and take a look at the entire picture instead of rushing a decision, I hope it works out for the best for everyone involved, football is a big deal in any school district, just because it stirs the athletic drink per say, if you can make it in football and become a good program, other sports follow. Boyle for example.

10-34 by my count, never won more then 3 games in any season.

I’m gonna support the program no matter who they hire. I have faith they will make the right decision, they did last time and I think they will this time. Whoever it may be. The are several different keys to having a program being successful, one of those is community support and it’s a big one.

Just out of curiosity, have you talked to Levi about this as well? I agree 110% with everything you just said, I’m just curious if you have had conversations with him yourself about how he wants to address things and the future of Lincoln football, I’ve always said I think Levi would be a fantastic hire, but I wonder sometimes if he would take the exact approach of Spencer, which is ok but needs to be added to as you mentioned.

Pretty sure that staff is set isn’t it? I might be wrong but thought someone said they already had their staff in place, but I’m sure they could find a spot somewhere.

Why because they are doing their due diligence on hiring the next coach? That doesn’t make much sense, Garrard took forever too, it’s just all part of the process. Give it time, we have had holidays and everything too, that extends the time they needed to get this done.
