Gibson Southern is also playing Boyle County in the Rafferty Bowl. We will be headed to the Bowling Green area twice.

Gibson Southern won the consolation bracket....due to an unfortunate early tournament play loss. We will be back this year.

Hi Guys, For someone out of state how would you describe the purpose of the "bowl" games or what they even are? Are they always typically week 1? Looks like some are just played at a regular HS field? Is the idea to get sponsorship for media coverage and a better $$ at the gate? How is the gate split?

Looks like Hopkinsville HS decided to swap week 1 opponents with Christian County. Gibson Southern will now Play Christian County (week 1 in Indiana).

I thought we talked about this Gipson vs Gibson Southern conundrum last year! LOL The school is located in the Southern part of rural Gibson County (thus the name), about 7 miles North of Interstate 64.

I am not familiar with Kentucky playoff qualification rules. If SW would happen to lose this game would it put them in a sticky spot regarding playoffs?

I was more concerned if the game Friday will streamed live for our fans who don’t make the drive.

Snowy, wet, cold night for a spread team in 2015...I had a son on that team. In 2019 missed the short field goal last seconds of the game when a player lined up incorrectly allowing the block. My middle son was on that team. My youngest is on this current team. We don’t play Mater Dei (2A). We are 3-3 against Memorial in post season play in the Hart era. Haubs in the only 5 star steak place left in SWI I believe.

Gibson Southern is a 3A school in rural Southwest Indiana. The school has an enrollment of approximately 700 kids and is situated in the middle of corn fields. The school is the result of the consolidation of Fort Branch, Owensville and Haubstadt high schools in 1974. Gibson Southern is ranked #1 in both the IFCA and AP Polls in 3A in Indiana. My friend doesn’t mention the New Albany win above. New Albany is a Senior heavy athletic 5A school in Indiana. GS won that game 63-24. Coach Nick Hart is 94-19 in his 10th season at Gibson Southern.
