I'm VERY curious to know how this scenario will play out...

If McCarthy is indeed going to be teaching at TNHS, could this coupled with the following mean that instead of BOTH schools offering it, neither will?

I know this is unrelated, but Jim have you heard anything on whether or not they will have a wrestling team?

This is where my siblings will attend then. Though I think my oldest sister can stay at Nelson County.

What area will the new school pull from? Will this mainly be county kids or Bardstown city kids?

Everything I've read points towards iPad 3 coming out in late Feb or early March and iPhone 5 to come out in June.

I completely agree with this. Wasn't nearly enough in the 4S to justify going from a 4 to a 4S. Now if you were stuck in 3 land, that is a different story. I'm waiting for the 5 and expecting BIG things.

This is exactly why I think the should be allowed to wrestle. Their parent(s) moved there so why not let them participate in the sport. In wrestling team spots are determined by wrestle-offs. The winner gets to wrestle, that's the beauty of it. No politics. Now, if the kids came out late on their own accord then I can see the logic, but these kids came out for the team once they were eligible to wrestle there.

So let's say a kid is a senior and has wrestled for four years. If a freshman beats him should you allow that freshman to wrestle in front of him? I mean, the senior has put in more work...

So coaches should punish kids for moving?

One thing, I would highly doubt that if a basketball coach had two ~top 25 nationally ranked kids move in they wouldn't let them play. Second, they have been there for longer but were waiting their appeal. I think you touch on part of the grey in the issue in that wrestling is both a team sport and an individual sport (why Duals needs to be recognized, but that's another thread). We are now at the part of the year when it is much more of an individual sport. I'm assuming that Coach Bankemper allowed the Myers brothers to wrestle-off and they won their spots on the team. The kids have been cleared to wrestle and assuming they beat the kids in front of them I see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to wrestle by the coach. In this regard, wrestling probably needs to be thought of more along the lines as something like tennis or golf. Yes, there is a team score counted but the individual matches are an individual thing and for the most part do not affect the outcome of any other matches but theirs. So you don't have any of the "learn-the-system" issues you might face if it was a basketball, football, or baseball player.

Is it just a dual between those two?

As an aside, does anyone know where Campbell County's varsity will be this weekend? LaRue County is off and I may have to go check the Myers brothers out in person before state gets here.

It's pretty wild. The thing to do would have been to nip it in the bud before it got to the point it did. That way some talk about the Myers brothers could happen. It's a very discussion worthy topic IMO.

In most wrestling rooms spots are determined by wrestle offs. I'm saying that if Stephen (or more correctly his father) wanted to wrestle 138lb I believe he could beat Hamilton to earn that spot. Then, Hamilton could take the 145lb spot.

I'm sure he could beat Hamilton in a wrestle off.
