  1. This move might put him never getting considered again for a Head Coaching job
  2. Coach Ford resigned on the May 28th, he is headed back to Somerset to teach and be a Assistant Coach. He went 11 and 28 in 4 years.
  3. GREAT CROSSING HIGH SCHOOL HEAD FOOTBALL COACH Ricky L. Bowling Personal Info: Born: April 26, 1990 Family: Father- Rick Bowling Mother- Charlotte Moore Sister- LaTosha Freeman Hometown: London, Kentucky Education: - MAT Special Education - Georgetown College - B.A. Interdisciplinary Degree (Business Management, Psychology) - Midway College Coaching Experience: Over the years, Bowling has had the opportunity to be coached and mentored by a variety of quality men in the coaching profession. To mention a few, Tony Franklin, Paul Rains, Chris Oliver, Larry “Cotton” Adams, Jep Irwin, Jason Chappell, Randy Frazier, and Travis McDaniel. It’s safe to say that Bowling’s specialty is developing Quarterbacks in the spread offense. His coaching career began in 2014 when he took over as the Offensive Coordinator/QB coach for his alma mater in 2014 under Head Coach Hunter Jackson. Bowling’s first QB project, Jon Jenkins, finished the season completing 128/228 passes with a 56% completion percentage, along with 1,632 yards and 18 TD’s. Following the 2014 season, Coach Bowling found his way to Whitley County High School coaching staff in 2015 in serving as Freshman Offensive Coordinator, Runningbacks Coach, and Passing Coordinator. The following year Bowling would move to coach Quarterbacks and continue as the Passing Coordinator. During his time in Williamsburg, The Colonels would go on to win back to back district championships in 2016 and 2017. Bowling’s Quarterback project; Dylan Wilson, at Whitley County would go on to win 5A District 8 Player of the Year in 2016 finishing his 2-year starter career with completing 62.4% of his passes on 303 of 485 attempts and attaining 4,279 yards in the air while accounting for 51 passing touchdowns. Bowling accepted the responsibilities as Assistant Head Coach under Paul Rains, while also serving as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach in the Warhawks inaugural season. Playing Career: Mostly known for his high school playing career, Bowling graduated from South Laurel High School (2009) in London, KY under Head Coach Jason Chappell. Bowling’s name is found in the KHSAA record book from his impressive career as a Quarterback. In his 4-year role as South Laurel’s QB, he recorded 12,575 passing yards - completing 947 of 1,451 passes with a 65.3% completion percentage. In 2005, Bowling was noticed in the USA Today by Middle Tennessee State Assistant Coach, Tony Franklin, for completing 32-33 passes as a Freshman. Bowling’s most outstanding record came his 2008 senior season when he tied the well-known University of Kentucky QB standout, Tim Couch, for the most TD’s in a career record of 133 while also holding the state record for pass completions with 947. To cap the Bowling’s high school career, he finished as KHSAA’s 2008 Mr. Football Runner-Up. Bowling would go on to play one season at the NAIA college level under Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator, Chris Oliver, at Lindsey Wilson College. During the school's first year as a collegiate football team (2010), Bowling threw the first Touchdown in school history and finished his college career completing 148 of 260 passes (57%), with 1,693 yards and 15 passing touchdowns.
  4. What a great coach. I hope he enjoys his retirement. However, I expect to still see him around the game
  5. I think West could go 8-2 or 7-3. We will season them win the district in regular season and in the playoffs. Depending how RPI goes for them I think we can see them in the state semi finals.
  6. I think we will have a season, however I don’t think it will be what we are use to. Maybe a 6 game schedule then playoffs with top two team from each district. Or they might push football back, and have a shorter basketball and baseball season.
  7. I think that Class A football needs to watch out for a sophomore to have a coming out party at Pikeville this year. Wade Hensley I see stepping up and right away filling the hole left by his brother Jackson.
  8. I have heard rumors that they are close to making a hire. This information is from a couple of parents no one with the school. They wasn’t sure of any names.
  9. I can see them going 8-2 or 9-1. I think they get beat by Ironton and it’s a toss up between Ashland.
  10. I know that their football and softball coach both resigned in early February is there any word on what’s going on there? I have heard rumors but nothing solid about them looking for a new coach.
  11. I wouldn’t think so either, unless they had a private booster set up. Which I would also doubt that.
  12. From what I understand, the player in question was cleared twice to play for this season. Lewis county hired a private investigator to looking into the player and I believe large his AAU coach. Upon the private investigator report Lewis county then took it to other school in the district and area to sign off on the complaint with them and sent it all to KHSAA. Which takes us to the letter on the 20th that informed Greenup Schools of some of those finding. Again this is what I’ve heard and read on other site, I’ve not heard anything first hand from people in position of knowledge at Greenup.
  13. I hope the team can pull together, and this doesn’t over shadow the post season for them.
  14. Because they received letter from KHSAA on the 20th about it. Which forced them into action.
  15. I’m hearing that Lewis County is narrowing it down to 2 coaches for the head coaching job.
  16. Heard they are doing interviews nexts week, and naming a coach the week after.
  17. Why would it, not all that was on him. He was the coach of the team yes however, a lot of that was being done at a higher level, A lot of the blame needed to go to Superintendent William Musick.
  18. They knew he wasn’t full time, and that he lived in Raceland and was driving back and forth. I’ve been told by several people that the AD doesn’t want football and isn’t going to let the program get up and running.
  19. They are putting a hiring board together and looking to have a coach in place by the end of February. Do they have any assistance that would be looking at taking the head coaching job?
  20. That’s horrible for that program, hopefully this doesn’t break the program apart.
