  1. Jackson has a couple very impressive players, too bad they have absolutely no bench. JCS made it competitive through 3 quarters but got beat by lack of depth. Wilgus Tolson and Jazz Johnson was just too much down the stretch. Looking forward to seeing what Wolfe County can do against a Breathitt County team with a ton of depth and talent. If the Wolfe Pack can't get their 3pt percentage up, the bobcats may give them their first district loss of the season.
  2. I look for Breathitt in the next several weeks to move up. They are deep at every position and have a solid backcourt in freshman Luke Bellamy and Jack Fugate, which I believe is one of the most underrated guards in the region. Their front court is also loaded with sophomore Jaylan Turner and Brandon Slaughter. Both are super athletes! Thrown into the mix, when Braxton O’Hair is driving the lane, he’s almost impossible to stop and you got one heck of a 14th region high school team.
  3. This was a tough game to watch. Lots of turnovers and travels. Wolfe out scored Letcher by 17 in the 4th quarter to steal the win. Tolson and Johnson finally put enough of a run together in the final minutes to keep the wolves from riding home with their tails between their legs. Peyton also hit some clutch free throws down the stretch.
  4. I agree, I think Breathitt is a sleeper team. When the final roster is set, they’ll be one of the most athletic teams in the region.
  5. I think this game will he very high scoring. Both teams have great offenses. The difference will defense and turnovers. Breathitt will need to stop the run and take care of the ball or they’ll lose big.
  6. If the Wolves play “we” ball instead of “me” ball, they’ll have a very successful season. With the presence of Richie, They’ve finally got a little size. Johnson and Tolson are two of the best guards in the state. Sawyer Thomson is an unbelievable marksman and Brewer has a motor that never stops. If this group of talented kids can play as a team, watch out!
  7. I’m going with Breathitt County for my sleeper. Brandon Slaughter is going to have a breakout year! Jack Fugate can shoot and is deceptively athletic. Jaylan Turner could also have a breakout season. They also have several underclassman who can contribute. If Braxton O’Hair can get healthy, they’ll be no pushover! Also, they have a proven coach in John Noble.
  8. The Bobcats pulled away in the 2nd half to go undefeated in the regular season.
  9. In my humble opinion, Breathitt has the best running back in 2A and having played such lopsided games, he’s fresh. He’s running behind 6’7” 320 pound D1 prospect Conner Deaton. Breathitt will score on any team in the playoffs.
  10. Breathitt County is the sleeper team. I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform against Pike Central. If they beat them like Belfrey did last weekend, then they are legit.
  11. Reviewing the preseason top 10 players, if you know anything about the skill level of the players in the 14th region, there’s no way you can leave out Wilgus Tolson from Wolfe County. He transferred from Scott County mid season last year and this past spring dropped 34 points, scoring any way he wanted, in the 14th region All Star game.
  12. Charles “genie” Collins opens up the 3rd quarter with a 85 years punt return for a touchdown. 56-0 breathitt
  13. He’s been seeing some minutes, but mostly playing wide out and corner. He came in as QB at the end of the 2nd and threw a swing pass for a TD.
  14. 50-0 Breathitt at the end of the first half. One of the many highlights, On second and long QB Jaylan Turner launches a beautifully thrown 50 yard bomb hitting WR Brandon Slaughter in stride for a 80 yard TD.
  15. Breathitt out scored Middlesboro 43-0 in the first quarter last week. They played subs the rest of the game. Looking forward rod seeing how they handle a team like Somerset.
  16. Breathitt County's Charles Collins gets it done on both sides of the ball, earns Player of the Week
