It seems like there are 2 factions in this thread. The "David is a nice guy" faction and the "Parents are delusional and David is an awesome coach" faction. Nobody seems to be really bashing the guy. Deductive reasoning would be that the delusional parents would be all over this thread, they are not. Call me crazy, but the Delusional Parent Syndrome argument seems to have no merit other than some loyal adults defending their guy at the expense of 15 and 16 year old kids and their parents. Coach Mcfarland is a nice guy in an unfortunate situation for all parties, I'm sure he'll bounce back with some valuable experience for the future. Unfortunately for the boys that have been exposed to this toxic environment, they dont get this time back. To Vince, Zach, Caggiano, Rabe, the kid that quit, the kid at Holy Cross.....Sorry fellas for all of the negative crap people have said about you, your parents and your team. We'll agree to disagree. I've not been to the Dr's office with him nor do I walk around with a tape measure, but I have seen him play against players listed as shorter than 6'8 that are either noticeably taller or the same height. Maybe hes not standing up straight, roster conspiracy, shoes, lol.

Great point! Pretty sure he's not 6'8. He is a good 3 point shooter for a big kid on a really bad team. Not sure that translates to a paid education. Good news is he is only a junior.

I see. Not sure what it's worth, but Ryle did not field a competitive roster this season I dont know why and won't act as if I could possibly know. I do believe the biggest loser in this whole thing is Vince Rankin, he deserved better. Parents and coaches owe that kid an apology.

Mayer is a monster! I bleed CCH BLUE and was definitely pessimistic to Michael's late arrival and how much he could add. I stand corrected, he is still a little rusty and playing at a higher level with each game. The kid is just freakishly athletic to be that big. He did a great job last night.

Not sure I understand your rationale. The Ryle parents are responsible for the losses. My only knowledge is conversations with 2 current parents. Sounds like your knowledge of their program may run much deeper than mine. Just seems like too many losses in a large enough sample to be the parents.

Apparently the discussion was had and the decision was made weeks ago. Kind of a sad ending, That team was depleted by the end of the season. The discussion last night indicated that another player left the team last week, Rabe was sitting out to make a transfer easier, Tyke Kaiser had some issues at school and didnt play, one of the former Ryle kids was in a shirt and tie with Holy Cross last night. Seemed like a nice enough guy, but seems as if he just never connected with the kids.

Coach Grammer had a great game plan. Up 10-6 at the end of 1. 21-20 at the half. Refs got involved and fouled Wahl and Knochelmen out. Another bad night for Draud, 2-9 maybe. I'd rather play Beechwood than Holy Cross for the Distrct. Go Colonels!
