Beechwood 48 Covington Holy Cross 34

Congrats Beechwood on the win and securing a spot in the region!

I believe this will be Coach Goetz's first trip to a Regional Tourney, is that right? If so, a hearty congratulations, welcome to the party at the Bank.

Coach Grammer had a great game plan. Up 10-6 at the end of 1. 21-20 at the half. Refs got involved and fouled Wahl and Knochelmen out. Another bad night for Draud, 2-9 maybe. I'd rather play Beechwood than Holy Cross for the Distrct. Go Colonels!

Congrats to Beechwood and coach Goetz. Best of luck at NKU next week.

That's just silly. Nice job by Holy Cross tonight hanging in there but no one who has seen these teams play would rather play Holy Cross than Beechwood.

Didn't say anything about anyone else but me chief.

You gave your opinion. I gave mine.

Holy Cross gave them everything they had. Great job by the coach to put them in position to make the upset. They were abysmal shooting the ball. Had to be 0-18 from 3 and not much better from the FT line. Saw HC grad and former NKU coach Dave Bezold in the stands. Good luck Beechwood against Cov Cath. Get the upset.

I wonder about shooting in the Holmes gym. I have heard people say often over the years that it is a very tough place to shoot. No one in the two games last night shot well. Beechwood missed a lot of open threes that are usually automatic for them.

I can see where it might be hard to shoot in but Beechwood played there against Holmes during the season and scored 78 in the same gym. Plus, playing in a win or your done game puts added pressure on those threes.
