? As I told some last night when watching Benedictine/Creekside.....if those two had UGA's unis on & I'd been told it was "UGA's spring game between their redshirts"? I'd have believed them. Then tonight...even moreso. Gainesville and Thomas County Central tomorrow night will be another freak show, too.

He just signed with Liberty....he's listed at 5'8" 185, but I've heard from those who've coached against him that he might be that with heels on. Yes! Last night Benedictine scored with 1:00 left on the clock & reviewed back to back plays from the 1 yard line. Carollton's HC, Joey King, was Trevor Lawrence (Clemson -> Jax) in high school at Cartersville. Won two state titles there, but hasn't won one yet at Carrollton.

Needless to say, Carrollton has things going on across the board themselves. https://www.carrolltontrojans.net/facilities These indoor facilities, full length are becoming more rule than exception. Definitely not in the majority, but within 10 years they will be. Carrollton has one. Central Carroll (county school system) will open theirs up in a few months. Tomorrow night? Gainesville and Thomas County Central both have one (Thomas County Central's Athletic/Extracurricular complex was $42 Million). Hall County? Where Gainesville (Independent) is? Go check out North Hall HS and their 'Brickyard' as they call it. Thomasville (Thomas Co's Independent system, 2A, also has just opened their own indoor as well. Colquitt County, Valdosta, Lowndes County, Camden County...all across South GA? All indoor as well.

Buford is the one that opened up their new $62 Million stadium this fall.

Can go back and watch it, but: - DE is the #1 Edge guy in the country & signed with Texas Tech - QB signed with Tx Tech - 5 hasn't signed yet, but likely going to Tx Tech - 4 already signed with Notre Dame - DL (55 I think) already signed with Clemson - FS signed with App State - Corner signed with BYU ....and THEY GOT BEAT.....Creekside had/has just as many. Tomorrow night? Thomas County Central & Gainesville in the 5A Title? They'll be the same way. ....and, that's not counting the schools across all classes who didn't make it who will have anywhere from 1-4 P4 guys, and some with more.

Wild isn't it?!? There is one more and then two of the football state finals, followed by day 3 of the same tomorrow.

Yep! But, the GHSAA started moving to these things during the week with them, us, most every state going into Christmas Break come Friday. They also started the during the week to include the girl's flag/7v7 state championships (one is being played right now) that are also held at The Benz. If haven't watched those, check it out. I hope the KHSAA makes it a sanctioned sport like many (if not all) of our state's to the south have. Fastest growing sport in the world & colleges have either already started their own or starting them.

? Down there? It's like that on both sides, for both teams & there are many, many others who have already been knocked out who have multiple D1 kids (P4). Ended up being a heck of a game, Creekside won 42-39. Benedictine also had a 4 Star WR who has already signed with Notre Dame, too. Tonight? Grayson and Carrollton play not only for the 6A Title....but, they play for the USA Today National Championship, as both are ranked #1 and #2 in the nation. Follow that same link.

This one is about to be a shootout. Benedictine now up at the half. Creekside is metro Atlanta & Benedictine is a Catholic, all boys....military school in Savannah. Creekside obviously has their share of big time talent, but Benedictine has: the #1 edge guy in the country going to Texas Tech another DL going to Clemson safety going to App State &.... corner going to BYU.

Creekside and Benedictine playing for the 4A Title right now (Link above). Both are legit, but Creekside (currently up 14-3 in 1st half), dropped 70 on DeSoto (TX) this season. DeSoto is playing in the Texas 6A Finals. They upset Southlake Carroll last weekend.

Bingo. Yeah man…that’s my whole gripe (which I hate doing), but towards them…it’s been “make any of this make sense.”

I don't have any issues whatsoever with Miami getting in. None. I knew exactly how it was going to play out down the stretch with Miami and ND, and never understood why they didn't have Miami/ND flipped to begin with those last few weeks. My issues, granted, the committee did what was per the rules.... is JMU and Tulane. Being in a conference also bit Duke and BYU....here Duke wins their conference & it doesn't matter. BYU loses, only chance they get in is to win the Big 12, didn't....yet they drop in the final rankings (probably did so bc it wouldn't matter), Alabama loses (and, the game wasn't even that 'close'), yet doesn't. Vandy has as much of a gripe as anybody, as does Texas. The Playoff Committee keeps changing the rules mid-season, and that’s the real problem. They tell teams to schedule tough, non-conference games — but then punish you for losing them. Texas schedules Ohio State Week 1 (as everyone asked them to do), loses to a top-tier opponent, and that single loss hangs over them all year. Then there’s the conference contradiction. We’re told conference affiliation matters — until it doesn’t. Win your league? Great… unless you’re Duke winning the ACC and somehow still on the outside looking in. So conferences matter, but only for certain brands? And the final-week rankings were the clearest example yet. Miami jumps Notre Dame without either team playing a game. That’s indefensible. Rankings should reflect what happens on the field — not last-minute reshuffling to fit a narrative. Miami deserved to be in the whole time, not just when it was convenient. That’s the issue: • Tough schedules are “encouraged” but punished (Texas) • Conference championships matter — selectively (Duke) • Rankings change without games being played ND/Miami) ...lastly, you won't be punished if you lose in your conference championship, unless you're BYU and not Alabama You can’t sell “criteria” when the application changes every week for what's "convenient" at the time.

Anybody that doesn't think Notre Dame isn't one of the 12 best teams has nothing more than I.D.S (Irish Derangement Syndrome) & "join a conference" crowd? Upset that their school and/or school(s) in their conference don't carry enough of a coast to coast, National Brand to solely have their own network. It would be highly, fiscally irresponsible (at least at this point in time) for Notre Dame to join a conference. ....and, there isn't another school in the country that wouldn't operate the same way if they could.

They need to go hire Tony Annesse at Ferris State, just a couple hours from Ann Arbor. Michigan man through and through. All he does is win....he could be their Kirk Cignetti (all be it JMU was FCS for most of his time before leaving for IU), or Ohio State's Jim Tresses when they got him from Youngstown State (FCS) again...better comparison (at least level wise)? Kentucky when they hired Mumme from D2 Valdosta. -22 year HS HFBC in Michigan, where he won 3 State Titles -JUCO HFC in Michigan where he won 3 conference titles. -HFC the last 16-18 years at Ferris where he's won 3 of the last 4 D2 National Titles, and about to play for his 4th this Saturday. -Ferris State leads ALL OF COLLEGE football, yet again, in total offense. Over 53 ppg, 530+ total yardage (300+ of that on the ground- just rushed for 375 on Saturday) Why not? "Yeah, but he's D2". So, what? "Well, he doesn't have any experience with the NIL stuff." And? That's why everybody now throws bags at the new General Manager positions. Annesse and Paul Simmons at Harding University (AR)? They play for it all this Saturday in McKinney, TX on ESPN. Two of THE BEST HFC in all of college football. Period. Two best rushing attacks in all of college football, too (and, Ferris will blow the top off taking shots, too. As will Harding, while not near as many).

They struggle for sure, and are part of the Fulton County School System (as is Johns Creek, who is amongst the Top 100 paid and historically as bad, if not worse than Alpharetta. But then you also have programs like Langston-Hughes, Milton & Cambridge which are all various levels of 'good' programs). I don't know the ins and outs of Fulton Co, other than just the random info like above. My "direct ins" to the goings on in GAHSFB are South (Thomas County Central -> Coastal areas) + W/NW GA.

According to this, he's not in the Top 100 in GA, but I'd say he's not far off (as are many others down there).

The whole time watching this game, I got to thinking about, IMVHO the often overused statement "The game will be won up front." Yeah...not so much. When two teams are equal in the SPEED/PLAYMAKER department? Yes. Heck even if one team has a slight advantage in those areas? Yes. However, when it's (SPEED) not even comparable? Who is better up front has absolutely zero relevance (and, FWIW, while both teams were very solid up front? I thought Pulaski was actually just slightly better in that department). Congrats to Owensboro & Coach Ganaway/staff....as well as Pulaski County & Coach Burns. Needless to say, I think these two programs are going to have more to say about 5A in the years to come than they have on a regular basis as is.

These types epitomize "gutless". More times than not, the parents like this who cause the problem(s)? Their kid(s) fall into one of these categories: 1- They start, sometimes both sides, sometimes one side.....but, they (parents) just know they should be at another position. 2- More touches. ..and, the worst, yet most amusing. 3- Can't play dead in a Cowboy & Indian movie (nor could their father's, if they even attempted to play at all....often times didn't)
