Really hoping to avoid the rain for this game. Several chances from game start to finish time. It's rained at times today depending on where you live in Paducah and it will be scattered tonight. I've been rained on more than my fair share of games over the years, hoping tonight isn't going to add to the list.

Last year in this game, Madisonville ran the ball over 40 times and controlled the clock. They were 4/7 passing. This time around they seem to be more balanced when they need to be. The Madisonville run defense so far has been nothing short of superb. PT on the other hand looks to have made a statement this year by showing they aren't just a passing team and can tote the rock also. This could determine who wins this one. They shut the PT run game down pretty well in that game last season. PT had 21 carries for only 52 yards. The PT run defense will have their hands full with Sandidge and company, but that defensive line is pretty stout, so again, just great matchup. I've looked over the stats from this year over and over and found what footage I could of Madisonville. I think they are better than what they are getting credit for. I can absolutely see a good, close game here again. There's going to be a lot of talent on the field tonight.

If the PT and Madisonville game somehow ends before this game is over, I'll make my way out to McCracken to watch the end of this. It has all the makings of a spectacular, high-scoring game, which is probably why it won't be. Seems like every time we think it will be one way and all signs point to that, it goes the other way. If it stays true to what we've all seen so far though, this could be a treat to see.

I don't believe he ever returned. I haven't heard anything as far as availability for this week.

@Purple88 ,thanks again so much! You always come through. The more I look at this matchup this morning, the more I think this is an underrated game. Tilghman better be prepared, these guys have a lot of weapons themselves. I know the competition they played thus far isn't the greatest, but I don't know that's it's that bad to do what Madisonville did to them. We'll see how legit they are and I think this may be closer than a lot expect.

Yeah, this team is historic in a lot of ways. I hope my schedule allows to go see them in the championship game, although it won't be much of a game either. We've seen a lot of teams over the years that most thought were a shoe in to win it all that ultimately didn't make it. This isn't one of those. They are crazy good! I'll always have a rooting interest in them because of their coach. He was a phenomenal qb at Tilghman and looks like he may be an even better coach.

McCracken rebounded after a loss they played well in at Tilghman and move to 2-1 after the unbelievable comeback against Logan County last week. Mayfield will travel to the Mustangs next week in what could be an absolute shootout. McCracken's defense is having all sorts of trouble the first 3 games, but that offense is clicking and they look superb passing the ball. Mayfield should be able to get going on offense whatever they decide to do and McCracken is going to score some points. This should be a great game to be at.

This is Tilghman's first 4 game winning streak in the series since 1991 thru 1994.

PT 40 Mayfield 17 Final

I don't remember the last time Mayfield got shut out in a half, especially at home. Credit to the PT defense. I was worried when McPike left the game early and Mayfield had the momentum, but several others stepped up for PT to carry the load. James had a wonderful game on the ground for Tilghman.
